Hit & Run at the Mall

To the inconsiderate person who hit this poor persons car at the mall this afternoon you should be ashamed of yourself. This is far more then a light scratch, you took the bumper right off. Is this how you want your property treated? You ruined someone's day and put stress and financial burden on another because you were too cowardly to fess up. I'm urging anyone that parked by chapters around 3pm to call Devonshire security with any information. I hope you realize the parking lot is monitored by cameras so you will most likely be caught. Do the right thing and call security.

ECRow traffic

Just because the expressway is backed up does not mean that you have the right to drive horizontally through traffic because you don't feel like waiting. I saw more than 10 cars do this before I decided to take a video #bepatient #waityourturn

Paramedics stretched too thin

On Wednesday July 5th, I had a fall in my backyard. I broke my ankle and couldn't move. No one was home and I started yelling for help. A neighbours daughter from behind us heard me and said she was coming. She had to come all the way around the block and when she found me she called 911 and my husband for me. To her and her husband, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I was in a lot of pain and very frightened.
Here is the problem, I laid on the ground unable to get up for two hours waiting for the ambulance. When they arrived they apologized and told me why this happened. There were 5 ambulances tied up at Hotel Dieu Campus and the other two were taking care of calls that were based on priority, which I understand. The bad part is there are ambulances not being used because they don't want to hire more paramedics.
This NEEDS to be addressed to our councillors all over the city. If we all do so, maybe this won't happen to someone else. Luckily my family and neighbour Kim came to my aid during this long period of time, keeping me as comfortable as possible.
To the ambulance attendance, a big thank you, I'm so sorry I don't remember your names but I won't forget your kindness and compassion towards me.

You are important!

Today after reading of Chester Bennington's death by suicide, it reminded me of the time in my life when I hit a really low point in my life. I used to think that people who killed themselves were selfish and cowards for finding an "easy" way out until I was hit with severe depression. I begged and cried on my knees asking God to take my pain away to make these awful bad thoughts go away and I would go to sleep and wake up and the thoughts and feelings were still there. I blamed myself that maybe this was my punishment for something and God was not listening to me. I tried to talk to people and in away I was asking crying out for help, even to my own husband and no one was listening. How I wish someone would have taken 2 minutes and pulled me aside and just said are you ok? Can I help but it seemed like no one believed me, maybe because I was laughing and looked happy, but anyone can put on a happy face. People often tell you that if you need to talk to call that they are there to listen, but it felt like no one really meant it. I often wonder if people only say it to be polite and when you look for them they can't be bothered. I finally decided that I needed to seek professional help and let me tell you those were the worst times, sitting in a therapists room and talking about my thoughts and what I was feeling was one of the hardest things to do. But I needed help, I wanted to live for myself, for my kids and my family. They need me and sometimes that's hard to see. I can't say Im completely cured but I know how to ask for help now. One of my main goals I am still working on learning to love myself and let me tell you it's one of the hardest things to accomplish. But everyday that I wake up and I am still alive I am thankful, I now try to find the positive in the bumps in the road that come my way. To anyone reading this know that you are important, that you are worth it to get better and that many people love you!

Robbed in broad daylight

Spotted : My husband and I were on our way home from the grocery, and as we were walking down an alley in the 3100 block of Tecumseh Road East we spotted a young girl lying on the ground screaming and crying. So I told my husband to run up and help the lady there were people around already assisting her and 911 was called. Apparently she was arriving at work and some guy jumped out of the bushes and attempted to Rob her.  Knocked her to the ground and roughed her up but she screamed and people came out to help and the guy ran off.  My street was swarming with police officers everywhere because he was hiding in someone's backyard. Needless to say they caught the guy. So I like to commend the police for acting so quickly and continuously searching until you found the looser! To the people who helped the young girl ty. And to the young lady who was victimized I hope and pray that you will be ok.

Good Cop Good Cop

Two police constables were nice enough to stop at a lemonade stand on the west end on July 18. It was operated by a young girl and her younger brother. My sister and I enjoyed our drink with the cops and the boy ran inside. He ran out with plastic handcuffs, and the constables, who had already returned to their cruiser, reemerged to play with the kid another couple minutes and show him their cuffs.

It can be a bad neighbourhood at times, so seeing two constables make two kids so happy was really nice.  Thank you for showing us #CopsCare #TheRealPolice
