Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
Spotted : I had some car problems two days ago and as I was waiting for ride I walked to the timmies on temple rd and central ave there I got a 4x4 and I was amazed when the pretty girl said this ones on the house. That made my day so much better. It's simple thoughts like this that make this world a better place.
Spotted : I was on a very crowded bus earlier today and watched two elderly people get on, a lady with her arm in a sling and a man who was so shaky he could barely stand. After looking around to see if anyone else would offer their seat to either of them (which no one did), I got up and offered mine to the gentleman as the woman HAD managed to find a spot. Another older gentleman happened to notice me clutching my abdomen and wincing in pain and kindly offered me his seat, but just as he did, someone happened to be getting off so I took that seat instead, thanking the gentleman for offering anyway. I am currently recovering from major abdominal surgery that I had 2 weeks ago and have had several complications requiring re-admittance to the hospital and was on my way to a follow-up appointment with my surgeon. I just wanted to thank that gentleman for noticing my discomfort, and out of all the young, healthy individuals with their noses buried in their phones, iPads and video games, was the only one aware enough of his real life surroundings to show a little compassion to someone who was hurting. Thank you.

Spotted: All of the Windsorites to whom common courtesy is apparently not so common.
While I thoroughly enjoy all of the good news stories I have been reading on here, there is one thing that irks me throughout the year. Sadly, it seems to be worse during the holiday season when impatience levels are running high. Saying "please", "thank you", and "excuse me" are small words that go a long way when out in public. If I am in your way in an aisle in a store or public area, instead of just standing behind me shooting daggers into my back, say "excuse me" and not only will I realize you are trying to get through, I WILL GLADLY MOVE! Saying "please" and "thank you" when some person does a small courtesy for you also validates the fact that you acknowledge that they went out of their way to be kind or cheerful. These are the little things that cause people to simply pay kindness forward.

Spotted: To the women working at Stokes who were super helpful, pleasant and patient during these busy Christmas shopping days. Greatly appreciated and noticed.
I know that this is not a spotted but it's something I have to get off my chest.
I am becoming more and more upset with each new story I hear about how someone was 'offended' because another person made the 'grievous' error by wishing them a Merry Christmas instead of Happy Holidays.
I would say that I am more of a spiritual person than a religious one. But if anyone took time out of their day to wish me Joy, Peace, Happiness and Well Being it wouldn't matter what form it came in , be it Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Merry Kawnza, Joyous Ramadan or Happy Yule. I would say thank you and wish them the same.
Plain and simple.
Perhaps the gesture of kindness is just that, someone wanting you to feel as happy as they do.
Holy crap imagine that!!!!
Everyone has their own celebration, it's about Love, Life, Joy, Happiness, Family, everything good about living. And NOT trying to convert you over to the darkside.
If you are one who is so easily offended then I say that maybe the problem is NOT THEM BUT YOU.
And if that is the case then WOULD YOU PLEASE DO THE WORLD A FAVOR AND GET OVER YOURSELF!!!!
Thank you I'll get down off my soap box now.
Merry Christmas,
Happy Hanukkah,
Merry Kawnza,
Joyous Ramadan,
Happy Yule
............and so on

Spotted : just wanted to give a shout out to the young gentleman in electronics at the walmart on Dougall, that helped me out with a Christmas present. Bought a car stereo this morning, to bring it home and realize parts missing, so i bring it back this afternoon, and ask him for some help, and he called the other store, which happened to take 30 mins, so due to the time i waited, and trouble i had gone thru, he price matched a different stereo (which was a better one!!)
Thank-You so much!! you're so kind!
Today, while working the drive-thru at a popular coffee shop on Dougall, a lady decided to pay for the order behind her. All she wanted to me say was, "the lady that was in front of you says Happy Holidays." Next thing you know it was a chain of six cars that participated in this chain of paying it forward. No one cared if the order behind was more than they intended to spend. It was something very special and it shows that there are many kind people out there.
All of you have been Spotted!!!
My friend and I were driving down Tecumseh Road, when we seen an old lady with a walker fall in front of Charley's and Guaranteed furniture. We pulled over, ran to her and two other guys also ran to help her. The snow had not been shovelled from the big snowfall. She was totally stuck. We got her to Pillette and Tecumseh then seen a police officer in the Charley's parking lot. We told him what happened and he went to check on the lady. These establishments SHOULD HAVE SHOVELLED!!! ISN'T THAT THE LAW????
