Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
I just want to give a huge shout out today to Essex District High school staff, with all of the medical issues that have been happening with my son (diagnosed with generalized epilepsy with grand mal seizures) the school has been amazing in supporting us and accommodating everything we need and making me feel at ease in knowing he will be well taken care of if anything were to happen at school, but today they went above and beyond and brought me to tears. They called me into the school today and presented me with a check knowing that I've missed a lot of time at work due to this. It goes to show it really does take a village to raise a child and this school has definitely proved to me they're a huge part of our village, so from the bottom of our hearts we thank you 💜💜💜
Huge thankyou to the lady who helped me when my car was stuck in the snow. I was driving my kids to school since the buses were cancelled, and I was stuck turning onto a busy road. This lady not only let me use some treads, but also helped push my car. It took about 3 tries since I was really stuck. I was so grateful she was there. Thankyou!
Thank you to the man in the truck who pulled over to help to help on Jefferson and Raymond today, just before noon. A gentleman had slipped into the road at the stop light, and I couldn't believe the number of people that drove past him, as he waved his cane in the air signalling his need for help. You arrived just after me (as I fell on my face trying to get to him). I likely would never have gotten the gentleman up on my own. Not only did you pull over to help, you then, without a second thought, loaded the man into your truck and drove him home. You are a good man, sir. Thank you!!
Today while navigating the very bad road conditions on Park ave. We witnessed several older gentlemen helping a woman get her car movable after being stuck while approaching the alley. We watched a man in a red station wagon stop and start helping. He ran back to the car and him and his young son grabbed shovels. They all continued to help this woman. 4 men and a very ambitious young man who was maybe 9 years old. What a beautiful moment to be a hero to this young woman who was visibly upset her car was immobile.
Keep doing good deeds y'all.
HIT AND RUN
If anyone happens to notice a white car possibly a Dodge dart with substantial damage to the front end and badly damaged grill and can get the licence plate number or the person's information please message me or call the police. This person hit my car this morning on George ave around 730am and did quite a bit of damage to my Ford focus. They left the scene. It is not covered under my insurance because I do not have the driver who hit me information.( Name licence plate number etc). I have no collision on my car and because it is a hit it run it is not covered...thank you very much and Merry Christmas
Tonight I was hanging out at my girlfriend's place when there was a knock on the door. Seeing as it was pretty late (8:30) we both looked at each other wondering who it could be. He said he was from Home Water Systems and wanted to check the iron and calcium in the taps. My girlfriend being naive just let him stroll on in. Once he saw me he was being extra polite and claimed it was necessary that he checked the taps. I've seen these scams before on Spotted In and Facebook before so I told him to get the hell out as politely as I could (not really though I kinda got stern with him asking if he's suppose to be here). He left pretty quick and said hed check in tomorrow but I know it's a scam. Does anyone else have information about this guy or guys? Was wearing a blue shirt, dirty shoes and an amateur name tag from Home Water Systems. Has anyone experienced this or heard of it before, let me know please. Thanks.
To the kind lady with two flat tires. Thank you so much, I was stuck in the snow, in a power wheel chair and couldn't move. A very kind lady came along and pushed me home . The chair was very heavy and to push it in the snow Was definately not easy. I hope you didn't hurt yourself. Thank you again
South Windsor: Stolen train that has been sold. I owned this Christmas train (picture posted) for many years. It's a limited edition Christmas brand train. I had to move in with extended family in South Windsor for the months of September and October 2017 before I could move into a new house. I have reason to believe a member of my family sold it. If there is anyone who has purchased this train or knows about this, it has been stolen and sold to you and is a greatly treasured family item. Please contact me and I will arrange to get your money back that you paid. It needs to come back to our family. Also another way you would know that it's my train is that inside the middle blue car there are a few tiny halo toy figures that I kept there as memory of my brother.
