Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
Just want to say thanks to the recycle guy on marentette this morning (Wednesday) when my mom and I got stuck after pulling over to let your truck through for helping push us out of the mass amount of slush. You guys work hard and just want to say thanks for taking the time out of your day! *high five*
This has been a problem for the past 5 years or so, but lately it has been really bad. Someone keeps driving down the alley and dumping garbage in my back yard (my fence doesn't go to the alley. In the past three months I have had a whole tree, chairs, a sink, broken up concrete, miscellaneous trash and yard waste dumped there. I am putting up cameras and the next time you think its okay to do whatever you want just know I have your plate and will likely have your face.

Early this Tuesday Feb. 9th morning just before 9:00 am I was on my way to Physio Theapy when I got my wheelchair stuck in the snow at the corner of California and College Avenue. The sidewalks were not shovelled in front of the house on the corner as usual after a snow fall. I was stuck for about 5 minutes until a kind young man approached and asked if I needed assistance. He kindly took the time to push me and my chair with the wheels spinning on occasion through the snow. I have no alternative but to go this way towards the St. Denis Center. Once we got past the last house the walks were nice and clear because the University of Windsor are very good neighbours and always have the walks cleared after every snowfall without fail. I asked this man his name but after a hectic morning with Therapy and other appointments his name slips my mind. I want to say Daniel but I could be wrong. After such a great gesture I apologize if I didn't get your name right but I just wanted to thank you again for taking the time to offer your assistance. It is always difficult for wheel chairs to get out in winter but even more so when people refuse to shovel walks in this area whether they are renters or homeowners. Thanks again for taking the time out of your day to assist me.
FOUND!!
Silver iPhone (not sure which model) found in 1800 block of Hickory. In a case with a few items.
If you were in the area/ lost your phone, please respond to this post and I will message you directly. You will need to describe the case it was in, and name at least 1 item that was in the case.
If the owner cannot be found within 48 hours, I will turn it over to the police, with the hopes that they can find its rightful owner
I was at the gas station with my kids filling up this weekend. Not sure why but when I went to start my van it didn't start. You were parked in a silver dodge car at the pump next to me. It was freezing outside and this was just bad luck for me. I walked up to you asking if there was a chance you could help me with a boost. At first you said you dont bavw cables, i replied that i did and you said ok. I had the cables from my kit in my hand. They were brand new and as I was taking them out of the pack to show you. You finished pumping gas and got into your car and pulped up to my van. I asked you to pop ypur hood and you replied "I don't want to hurt my battery." I explained that these were heavy duty cables and they should be fine. You mumbled something and drove off. The gentleman next to you overheard our conversation and offered to charge me up once he was done putting gas. I thanked him after he got me going and drove off. As I came to front road I noticed a cop car that had pulled a car over...my daughter pointed out that was the same car and you were the same person that said they didn't have time and didn't want to ruin your battery. The kids started to laugh thinking you got what you deserved, I stopped them and said that it wasn't nice to laugh. If I was being honest I laughed on the inside a little. Hopefully he didn't ding you for too much and I'm glad you were able to sit in your car nice and warm.
I lost my keys sometime between Thursday and Sunday. Any place from st clair, to wineology, and maybe even walmart (yes I'm aware of how unspecified this is). If anyone finds them, id appreciate if they're returned!!
They have a set of ford keys, and my house key on a green lanyard. Has a silver heart shaped key chain with the names "Hailey" and "Lucas" engraved!!
To the person who decided to call the police on me while I was driving a company car and was working on Jan. 7/ 18 around 8:20pm. You should definitely educate yourself on traffic laws and how to drive a motor vehicle safely. You called the police on me for passing a slow moving vehicle. You claimed I was speeding, passing on the shoulder, and "zipping" in and out of traffic. I didn't know it was illegal to pass a slower moving vehicle, you and the other vehicle, if a lane is open and it is safe to do so. Here is where I have an issue. You claimed I broke laws, but I have a feeling you left out your "driving" from the story. The fact you were driving slow in a passing lane(right lane is for slower drivers), you had to speed to catch up to me, you cut me off on a highway without signaling. After I safely went around you and exited the highway, you then cut me off without signaling and slammed on your brakes in a turn lane. After I safely passed you again, you followed me while tailgating and using your phone while driving. Just to let you know, I was driving to an alarm. I can't imagine how angry you'd be if it was your business I was on my way to, someone delayed me and I missed a burglar ransacking your busniess. Luckily for you I have a clean driving record and I drive for a living, otherwise your unsafe driving could have got us both hurt. Please don't try and be the police.
