Spotted : While out using up a gift card at the east end Canadian Tire, I witnessed a simple act of kindness. An elderly gent in his mid was having trouble turning off his car alarm and seemed rather red faced about the situation. Along comes a younger fellow in his early 20's went over and helped him shut off the alarm. A simple gesture that ended with smiles.

Nice to see the younger crowd stepping up.

We all know that the holidays can be crazy especially on boxing day. With the chaos busses can get super busy too. Bussing home from the mall yesterday the bus was completely packed, an this elderly man was standing even though he could barely keep his balance.

Spotted : To the boy who looked about 8 or 9 for giving up his seat so the elderly man could sit. This gives me hope for the upcoming generation.

from a hopeful windsorite.

Spotted : I was in line at Chapters at Devonshire Mall on Boxing Day when the young man behind me informed the young girl ahead of me that she had dropped her gift card, which was laying on the floor. I enjoy seeing good deeds and ensure I comment on them when I do see them. He could have easily picked it up nonchalantly and the young girl wouldn't have noticed (nor would I), but instead he was honest. I commented to him that was a kind thing to do.

Thank you, sir, for your integrity!

Spotted: Hit and Run! Please slow down this holiday season while driving. Our Daughter's 7 month old Shepherd/ border collie X pup slipped out of the back yard on Christmas Day on Forest Glade Drive. They just rescued this dog about a week before and are still training him. The driver of a beige van not only hit the dog while our 9 yr. old grandson was on the sidewalk trying to retrieve him, but saw what he did and continued to just drive away! But on a happier note a BIG THANK-YOU to the kind gentleman that helped my Grandson carry the dog home. We don't know who you are but truly appreciate your kindness and Christmas spirit to our grandson. Our whole family wishes you the best this holiday season and in the upcoming years. The dog has suffered a fractured shoulder but should be good as new in time.

Spotted : To the man wearing a Santa hat in Sirens, Devonshire today shouting at the cashier because he disagreed with the non return policy on Dec 26 and 27, you should have more respect what if this was your daughter or wife being yelled at for following policy. You caused such a scene your wife was even embarrassed was it worth it? Also, to the manager who kicked this jerk out bravo for standing your ground and not letting this grinch take the smile off your face.
People an ounce of kindness goes a long way be kind to those in the service industry they're the faces representing the policy makers.

Signed,

A fellow service industry worker

Spotted: the ER staff at Hotel Dieu.

I woke up this morning with my eye swollen shut. A stye that went haywire. After driving all over the city to different clinics, since my doctor was closed, to find two of them closed and one with an hour wait just to take my name, we decided to try the ER. I was greeted quickly and courteously by the triage and registration staff, only to be sitting in the waiting room for about 10 minutes. I was called in to see the eye doctor on staff, and was in and out of the hospital within 20 minutes. I have never been treated so quickly in the ER. So thank you to the ER staff at Hotel Dieu for being so courteous, polite and speedy. It was greatly appreciated.

Signed,
the girl who looks like Igor.
