Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
To the man with the Union Jack toque in the McDonald's who treated me to breakfast, you've been spotted!
You couldn't possibly have known that yesterday I got news that would make Christmas very difficult for the fifth year in a row. I had given up on the holidays being happy times. Then this morning you did an amazing thing: you paid for my breakfast and wished me a Merry Christmas. I was floored.
Sir, if you are reading this, I certainly will have a Merry Christmas. Thank you for reminding me that it's the good things that matter.
I was too stunned to do anything but cry happy tears and thank you for that kindness. I wanted to tell you right then that I would pass the kindness on, but my heart was too full for words, so I'm saying it now: I will pass the kindness on.
Signed, The Former Grinch
Spotted : To the guy in the Jeep getting on ec row at 7:35/ 7:40 from Jefferson going west - thanks for clearing off the top of your vehicle... Nothing like driving behind a man-made blizzard with an 18-wheeler right next to me as I try to merge. Please remember to clean off your cars - and not JUST your wind shields..
So a few weeks ago my husband was driving home from work just after 5 pm. He had just turned left onto the expressway at Patillo going east. A police officer pulls him over at Banwell and was going to give him a ticket for texting. This is quite funny as we don't even own cell phones, after almost laughing in the officers face and telling him to search him, after the officer kept asking him the same questions trying to get him to own up to something we don't have the officer let him go with a "warning", what a joke. Seems the officers are stopping more people without phones than the ones that actually use them while driving.
To the person driving a light brown Honda civic that couldn't wait for me to go through the light before you made your left hand turn, luckily I was paying attention or I would of hit you. At the intersection of Roseville Garden Drive and Tecumseh Rd, I had the green light going east at 9:35 pm Tues Dec 3rd and as I was approaching the middle of this intersection this person made me slam on my brakes and because the road was a little wet with the rain we had, I skid and almost hit him. If only you could of waited the 20 seconds for me to go through before making that left turn you wouldn't of been honked at. Thank god the bus behind you had enough brains to wait his turn. Of course you must of been either in a hurry or more important than me!!!
Spotted : To the Security Guard at the TD bank who showed my little girl a magic trick as we waited in line! You were very kind and she loved it!! She talked about it all day and even did the motions you did as you magically moved the table! I went to thank you again as she too was looking for you but you were gone. So once again thank you for being so kind and making a little blonde 3 year olds day and week!!! Its so nice to see people do little things that can mean so much to someone!!
Signed a happy mom of a happy girl
Spotted : I wanted to give a shoutout to my dentist in the buildings at Howard and Tecumseh. I had the misfortune of having to have a tooth extracted over the weekend. He spent a lot of time reassuring me as I am a scaredy cat when it comes to freezing and pain. When I reminded him that I was the patient who was afraid of needles he replied. "Oh, you too?" Hilarious. And thank you for absorbing 1/ 3 of the cost.
Merry Christmas!!
In the words on my sister-in-law today "Seen a visual impaired elderly lady trying to cross by the Lions Manor, the light turned red and she was mid crossing and people had the balls to swerve past her scaring her to tears. Bet I pissed them off when I stopped my van in the middle of two lanes and got out to help her across. I got the finger, angry looks many honks. Jerks!!" The nerve of some people, where's the compassion and safety in people?
You've Been Spotted!
Proud of my Sister-In-Law Today!
Spotted : To the household at Hallmark thank you for being an excellent neighbour to us all. My 5 year old son gets on the school bus outside of your house to go to kindergarten. I was pleasently surprised to see how far you went to ensure that the kids that get on and off their bus outside your house have a clear safe sidewalk to stand on while waiting. So very thoughtful.
Signed a very happy Mom.
