Spotted : To the woman at Zehers on Manning Road.

At around 5pm this evening you made my whole Christmas. I was having a day where I was worried about having enough money to do exactly what I would need. I've been sinking my money into my mother and her needs and paying it forward for a while now.

I was at the cashier, oblivious to the amount on the register, that I would be required to remove some items to stay in my budget. Just as the cashier was removing them, you offered to pay the difference. I told you I couldn't let you do that, but you did it anyways.

I moved ahead and watched you pay for the difference. I waited to hug you and began to sob uncontrollably as I thanked you. You hugged me, kissed me on my cheek and told me you once had two young kids and knew what it was like to be in my shoes.

I've always been the giver, but I had no idea how over powering it was to be on the receiving end. Your generosity has made my whole Christmas. And with the speechless words I could not seem to find in that very moment, I realized I had forgotten to get your name.

My body is aching, my eyes are tired, but my heart is filled with the warmth of Christmas miracles. It's because of you that I have sobbed happy tears for over 2 hours.

Thank you generous woman. You made my whole Christmas. I only wish I knew who you were so I could repay the generosity you have given me.

Sincerely the grateful mother of two.

Every day I go on facebook and read so many posts about paying it forward and the kindness and generous hearts of people in our community, and I am blown away at how wonderful many people can be, strangers at that!

Spotted : Tonight I actually experienced what I have been reading everyday. I took my 4 year old son out on a mommy and son date, we went to his favorite restaurant- Maria's in Amherstburg. I was so proud of my little boy, such good manners and so well behaved. We ate our dinners, and a kind gentleman that sat next to us with his family made small talk with my son, which was really nice. We finished eating, and the waitress came back a few minutes later and said our bill had been taken care of. I was in shock, and was nearly brought to tears. I cannot say that that gentleman paid our bill, but I think he did. I went to the cashier, and said I wanted to pay another couple's bill, she laughed and said wow, paying it forward fast eh? I smiled and said, how can I not, this has really made my night, and has put me in the Christmas spirit. So to the person ( kind gentleman I think), thank you, your generosity has lifted my Christmas spirit, and made me realize there are wonderful people all around. Merry Christmas,

The delighted mom and son

I'm looking for everyone's help.....my sisters house was broken into and her jewellery box was cleaned out....everything is gone including a couple of heirlooms. As you can imagine she is devastated....days before Christmas.

The one picture I was able to dig up of those missing items is this very unique white gold, diamond and multi coloured sapphire spiral ring.

If you see this ring....know where it is....know who has it....please post/ message me... Reward offered!

I would love to be able to find it, wrap it up and hand it to her as a gift for Christmas.

Last night we went to see the Tenors perform at the Casino, and what an amazing concert, but too bad the ladies behind us thought they were the only one's that were there. They were either talking loudly or singing along with the Tenors throughout the whole concert. Please be considerate of others around you....we've paid for our tickets to see them perform, not listen to you gab. If you want to do that, stay home and sing along with their CD....feeling annoyed for ruining our night and not thinking about anyone else but your selfishness!!!

Spotted in Windsor:
To the so called "photographer" who participated in the Downtown Mission Polar Bear Dip that's had your face plastered all over the paper and the news, maybe you should really get in the Spirit of Christmas and do something to help the people that have actually PAID for your services.

Signed, all the people you've screwed over.

Spotted : I was having dinner at the Pizza Hut on Dougall yesterday with my husband, and 3 boys as well as my "daycare children" and we were waiting for our food to come. A nice lady across the restaurant kept looking over and smiling. To our surprise when our food arrived the server told us that the meal was free as the nice lady across the restaurant had decided to pay for our entire meal because she had never seen such quiet, well behaved children. This made my heart melt and wished I was able to thank her for such a kind gesture but she had already left. So, if you are the 2 kind ladies who were sitting in pizza hut around 5 pm thursday night, I want to thank you with all of my heart!!

Spotted : To the person who was driving erratically on the expressway today at around 330pm in the rain, you scared the crap out of me. Driving in and out of traffic and almost coming close in hitting a few cars, you need to slow down and be patient. The weather was not in your favour and at no time is this appropriate driving. Just to let you know you were driving a dark blue Kia SUV..please drive cautiously before you kill someone and your self. I have your license number as well because I wanted to call the police and report you which I have not. Please dont let me regret it! This was my Christmas gift to you.you have been spotted!!

Spotted: All kinds of reckless drivers on EC row this evening

I work until about 6pm on Friday nights and always take EC Row home. Normally, traffic is very smoothly flowing at this time, although busy, as many people are headed home after a long day of work. Today's milder weather seems to have made drivers less aware of road conditions because I spotted no less than 4 careless driver speeding and weaving in and out of traffic like their wives were in labour. Wet roads and dark skies still make for poor driving conditions and I think we all need to slow down and be more cautious when driving. Not only around the holidays because more people seem to be out and about, but for the rest of the winter when road conditions may not be as ideal as we would hope.

Signed,
A good driver who just wants to make it home after work in one piece
