Never leave anything valuables in your car

Warning to all, please do not leave anything valuable in your car! In the place that I should feel the SAFEST I was violated and stolen from by a scum bag! Went to pick up my Son from his daycare (the children's house Montessori on Labelle in Windsor) at 2:45 in the afternoon and noticed an unusual man in the parking lot on his bike (first flag and stupid me for not reporting it and I keep kicking myself for not) in the 5 whole minutes it took me to grab my son and come back to my LOCKED car, my back window was smashed opened (glass all over the place inside and outside of the car) My laptop, wallet and phone were all stolen!!!! Frankly the phone, the car window and door , and the wallet are replaceable but my thumb drives and laptop contained SO many pictures and files that are irreplaceable..... Worst day ever. Worst part was my poor innocent child witnessed this.....Lessons learned: never leave anything in your car no matter where you are and two always back up everything de your digital devices. Sincerely, one traumatized mom...

Helpful sales lady

I visited Sears yesterday after a long day at work to find something to wear for an upcoming event. I had tried on many different pieces of clothing with no luck. I had a jacket I like but didn't know what to put with it. A kind sales lady asked if she could help. Well let me tell you this lady who's name was Ida took over my shopping for me. She spent so much time trying to find the right piece of clothing to go with this jacket I found. She was honest and cheerful wanting me to look good in my purchase. Finally after at least 20 minutes with her help I decided on the outfit. She said now just go and put some bold copper or black jewellery with this and you will look beautiful. I followed her instructions and moved on to the jewellery department. Not being sure what look good I went back to the clothing section to find her. She was more than happy to walk back to the jewellery department and help me decide on what to purchase again. She then walked me to the cash register, hung my new clothes on a hanger and wrapped them, helped the cashier process the gift card I gave her all with a smile on her face and chatting of her time at Sears, family and how much she enjoyed her work. I thought that was enough, but no, Ida walked me right to the door at Sears, shook my hand and wished my a happy time at my event that I have just purchase the outfit for. She went above and beyond her duties as a sales person and I truly appreciated it. My shopping experience was pleasant thanks to Ida at Sears. When I wear this outfit I will feel special knowing how much time and effort was spent by a very helpful beautiful lady. A BIG thank you to Ida, I hope we meet again some day. To the management at Sears, you should appreciate people like Ida, she is good for your business.

Superhero Takeover...spectacular!

i have been meaning to post this for months now....better late then never!

I took my son and daughter to the Superhero Takeover back in October. I frequently go to "kid friendly" events around the city and I must say by far this is one of the most organized events we have been to. What a great concept, lots of room for the kids to run around, tons of activities that are worth way more then the price of the ticket. Not one time did we have to wait to do an activity. The volunteers were so great with my children. Running an event for kids is difficult, there must have been over 150 of them running around. Hats off to the organizers of this. We look forward to going next year. Thank you for doing this fun event for the kids.
