Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
Unfortunately there is no end to the depravity of some people in this city. On Friday evening I was with my best friend at his office setting up for my stag party and doing some photography. We left the building at around 10pm, put a bunch of photography equipment in the back room and locked up both front and back doors. We returned around 3am to find the back door had been kicked in and all of my equipment had been stolen along with a monitor and a router.
This happened between Friday 1030pm and 3am Saturday the 27th at 950 Ottawa street between the autoshop and gas station and parent, across the street from 7/ 11
If anyone has any information please contact me by email, or the police. The case number is 2016-61967. If you were the perpetrator, and if you return the items to me I will forego pressing charges.
Well apparently the thieves are at it again..This time bundles of shingles stolen from our yard...I'm just so fed up by this behavior. Warning people that live between Giles and Tecumseh rd .Dougal and McDougal.. our area is being hit hard. They take anything not tied down..including plants.
We are lucky as we have a neighbor who witnessed the incident and we are in process of meeting with the police...
Just please watch all your valuables..
On Monday, August 29 around 4:45, I witnessed a "bump" on the expressway. It happened where traffic is merging, due to construction, at Central Avenue. A big pickup (I took a picture) was anxious to merge, and in his attempts he hit the back left part of the car in front of him and bounced right off. It was a little blue car; I think a Mazda but I'm unsure. Both cars did keep moving. If they had stopped, it would have been a nightmare.
If the driver of that little blue car needs a witness or the license plate of the pickup that hit him, please leave a message and we'll connect somehow.
I felt so bad for a young lady this morning on a bike in front of our apartment on Riverside Dr.This woman layed hard on her horn with a very angry impatient face to make the girl get off the road. There was a sports car tailgating the angry woman. There were no cars coming in the opposite direction. The girl on the bike was shaken and moved onto the soft shoulder while the angry lady and the sports car sped off. There were no cars in the other lane. If she was uncomfortable she could have gone around her. Slamming on your horn like that is enough to startle a biker further into the middle of the lane. Have some patience and common sense people!
To the older Gentleman at the east end Walmart this morning,
I'd like to thank you for the ignorant comment you decided to yell at me while I was exercising my legal right to nurse my child in public before you scurried away like the rat that you are. I was in such shock that I didn't have anything to say at the time but it has given me much to think about. Frankly, I wasn't about to yell any of the numerous things rolling through my mind because I decided to be the bigger person. I'm not going to try to educate you on the benefits of breastfeeding or the legal and social struggles women throughout the world experience on a daily basis when all we want to do is feed our hungry children. And to be honest, it's not worth my time and effort to attempt to educate the ignorant, I have better things to do. But I would like to thank you.
Thanks for being the first person to negatively comment on my decision to breastfeed in public, it has made me appreciate the rest of society so much more. In the 2+ years I've been nursing my children I've never once come across a single person with something negative to say. In fact, most people are extremely kind and supportive. I'm so grateful to them, they've made my breastfeeding journey so rewarding. I know that what I'm doing is the best thing for my children and it's always nice to have strangers acknowledge it too.
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to think about my rights as a parent. I am grateful to live in a country where breastfeeding is a human right. Under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms I have the right to nurse my child wherever and whenever my child and I choose. There are so many women in this world who don't have that right and that is truly a shame.
Thanks for encouraging me to continue to nurse my child for as long as she wishes to be nursed and to nurse her wherever she wants to be. If you thought that by making derogatory comments that it would convince me otherwise, you're very mistaken. We had a very difficult start and I have no intention of giving it up any time soon. It is after all what we as mammals were designed to do.
Thanks for the opportunity to speak out about breastfeeding and encourage other moms who have chosen to nurse their child to do what makes them comfortable. Perhaps they prefer to pump and bottle feed or maybe they'd rather cover up and while this may make you happier, it doesn't work for us and I wouldn't want it to. I prefer to feed my baby wherever and whenever she is hungry and neither of us feels a need to cover up. Even if that means nursing her while pushing a shopping cart. Ultimately, if seeing me nurse in public encourages just one more mom to feel comfortable to do the same, I know that I've made this world a better place.
I'm sure that if this ever gets to you, you'll never read it. Ignorance will do that to a person. I do however want to leave you with one thought given your age, odds are you were breastfed too.
While my boyfriend and I were driving in this area it was very visible to us and others that someone had thrown either kittens on dogs in these bags and through them on the road so that they could get run over again and again, btw the human society is very close to this area so he or she could have just dropped them off . We called the city and notified them of what we saw. If the person who did this horrific thing is reading this , shame on you . It made us sick . I really don't know how you can live with what you did
Trying to find a witness to a hit and run Tuesday around 4:30 at the intersection of Wyandotte and Raymo. A child was on his bike and an elderly driver in a black vehicle hit him, went around him and drove off.
Hi there, I'm looking for any witnesses at the corner of E C Row expressway and Howard, July 6th at approximately 3pm that had to do with a GREY/ SILVER Honda civic that hit me in my BLACK GMC Yukon SUV/ Truck While I was turning off of the Expressway on a pure green light and they(Honda civic) went through a red light while everyone else was stopped at the red light and hit the side back(rear right corner) of me. The Honda Civic that hit me definitely has front end damage. It seemed as if they were trying to get away and I caught up to them in my black GMC Yukon going north up Howard. If you seen this and can help me out please give me a call/ text or email me at gignac69@hotmail.com, 226-260-3242, I would really appreciate it if you can contact me either way, Thank you...
