Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
My new car was hit today in the Tilbury District Family Health Team/ Tilbury Shoppers Drug Mart parking lot. There was significant damage and the driver left without leaving any contact. Looks to be a white SUV or truck. If anyone hears anything or has any information please contact me bonneau13@hotmail.com
Today, Monday February 27th, I was a part of a family members funeral procession. We travelled up Ouellette to Eugenie, then to Howard going to Windsor Memorial Gardens. I have never seen such disrespect from drivers in this city in my whole life. We had multiple cars drive through the procession without a care in the world almost causing accidents, on Eugenie we had a car actually pull over from the right lane into our lane between our cars and drove between us so they could go straight, and then going up Howard right before division we again had muliple cars pull in and drive BETWEEN our cars in the funeral procession actually at one time while weaving in causing an accident between two of our family members who then had to pull over and check their cars for damage. And let me tell you something else...before we reached the mall area I didn't observe not one person pull their car over to the side of the road while we drove. I honestly can't believe what I saw today. It was the most dangerous funeral procession I have ever been a part of and I am disgusted and the level of disrespect that these drivers had today. Let's do better people! Have some respect for the dead and the people in mourning.
On Thursday February 23rd, I headed to the check out at a grocery store. As I was checking out, the cashier asked me, "How far along are you?"
Surprised with this question, since I am not pregnant, I answered, "No, I'm not."
After ringing in a few more items she said, "No really, you're about to burst, you must be due in the spring."
I quietly told her again that no, I am not pregnant. She asked a third time before noticing that I was about to cry. She made a huge deal about apologizing, loud enough for other customers and employees to hear, then came around and hugged me while blocking me from getting by to leave, despite my obvious discomfort. I hugged her back even though I wanted to use some profanities and leave.
This is the worst thing that has happened to me since I was diagnosed with heart issues that restrict my ability to exercise and work.
To anyone reading this, I would like to remind you that you do not know the life story of strangers you come across every day. It is NEVER okay to assume a larger woman is pregnant. If you do make this mistake, quietly apologize then move on.
I have never been so embarrassed in my entire life, and this situation could have been handled better, or avoided completely.
Please be alert with the nice weather. I had my inside door open and was letting the sun inside for a bit today when a young man about 19-20( longer brown hair, about 5ft 7in) came up on my front porch. Was surprised when I greeted him at the door. He quickly gave me a story about being badly beaten up and his phone stolen and asked for a ride home. He did not look the least beat up and appeared to have a phone in his hand. Told him I did not have a car around but would gladly call the police for him. He then decided that it was ok and ran down the street and got into a small bright yellow pick up that was waiting for him., Be watchful, don't leave doors unlocked, don't let strangers inside. Offer to call the police for them. Please don't take chances.
To the ignorant young girl driving past my brother-in-law's father's funeral procession today in Lasalle. As all of us were on our way to lay him to rest, you must have thought we were such a big inconvenience to your day that you so graciously shot the finger to each and every car that passed you by. Please know that you were noticed and I feel sorry for you as you were clearly never taught to respect the dead. May God forgive you for your heartless actions today.
To the person who hit my bf's Charcoal coloured dodge ram in the parking lot of Fresco east. He parked in a spot and a half due to the snow on the side and you still managed to side swiped his truck!!!! Now WE have to incur the cost to have it repaired. Hope you are satisfied with yourself.
Yesterday, around 4pm, my son was walking from the WFCU Credit Union to the Zehrs store on Malden Rd. He was crossing at the 2 way stop when a woman whipped around the corner, narrowly missing him by a meer foot. She then saw him, put her window down and said that the sun was in her eyes (no apology though). The 1st thing he told me when he got home was "he almost got killed today". This morning at 6:30, he unexpectedly said the same thing to me before leaving for work. He is not a little kid, a 25 year old young man who's brush with death will likely stay with him for a while. Would you accept the excuse " the sun was in my eyes" had it been a vehicle hitting your car? I think not! I thank the Lord that my son was able to come home yesterday without physical injury.
For the record so that everybody knows at the Tim Hortons on the corner of Wyandotte and walker when you leave the drive-through and going to that little alley area you are not allowed to turn right on a red light. I am aware that usually you are allowed to do this however they specifically have a sign up at corner that shows that you cannot do this The reason for this is because that big opening next to it is the trucks loading bay for that company So for the two people who were beeping like crazy and giving me the finger tonight because I was not turning right on the red light I was waiting you need to pay more attention to your surroundings and the signs People need to stop being so impatient I have seen someone almost get hit by a truck at that light because they turned right on a red light Just because you refuse to obey the traffic signs doesn't mean I will I'm being responsible because if you get hit because you're running the red light to turn right in a place that says you cannot do this it will be your responsibility and frankly I can't afford the ticket or the cost that it's gonna cost to fix my car and someone else's.
