Guilty driver

This morning around 6:30am at the timmies drive thru/ gas station at the corner of manning and CR#46, a man in red truck hit our car and smashed in the front fender. Firstly this man, which I use the term loosely, swore and blamed my husband who was not even moving at the time. He then proceeded to drive, my husband assumed he was parking to exchange insurance info. Nope. He drove through the gas station and took off. It all happened so fast we did not get the make/ model or plate number. Cops said there's not much we can do unless we have something to go on. If anybody witnessed this happen please comment so we can chat. I want to find this loser and make sure he doesn't pull this crap on anyone else.

Door to door soliciting

Last night, April 1st around 8:15 p.m two males were going door to door 1300 block of Howard Ave asking to put filters in our pipes for safe drinking water. He asked who was in charge of my home and if my dog was friendly. I was extremely uncomfortable. They claimed to be an organization called Safe Water, they were wearing blue jackets. I wasn't sure if they were legitimate so I wanted to share.

Paying with debit taking a cab - Warning

Saturday night, I was out for a friends birthday downtown, I was walking down Erie Street to find hall street (where I parked my car) when I approached a cab to drive me there because I wasn't sure where the street was. I got into the back seat of the cab and as soon as I got in, he asked me how I was paying (Cash or debit) I said cash. He refused to let me pay cash and pushed me to pay with debit instead. He did not put the meter on and told me that it was $10 which I knew it was supposed to be less. He continued to push paying debit on me, so I gave in because I just wanted to go home and get out of the cab. I found it a little strange but did it anyways. He passed me the debit machine where it said $10, he grabbed my debit, and put it in his portable machine and passed it back to me. Before I put my pin # in, he told me that it would say 'communication error' so we might have to do it a second time. I put my pin # in the machine and it said 'communication error' (just like he said) so I did it a second time, and again the machine came up as 'communication error'. I got frustrated and told him, "I'm just going to give you cash!" He said "that's fine", and while I was going through my purse to grab my money, he had my debit card still with him. As I was getting out of the cab, I told him to give me back my debit card. He said "Oh, Oh Sorry" as if it was a mistake. The next day, I went to TD bank to take out some cash and put my card in and it said 'invalid pin, card disabled' right away I called my bank and read them my access card # and they told me that it wasn't my card. So I checked my online banking and it wasn't the same number. So while I was in his cab, he swapped my debit card with a stolen identical debit card so he could drain my account. Good thing I got to it in time. I've done some research and this has happened in Toronto and Montreal. Beware to all younger girls who are taking cabs in downtown Windsor, especially late at night! The police have been notified.

Devonshire Mall

Tonight, March 17, I picked my daughter up from the mall at about 8:15 pm. The power went out at the mall and it was dark at the entrances. I waited where I could see the doors for my daughter to text me that her and her friend were coming out. Her friend got into her mom's car as I was coming around to pull up in front of my daughter. A van pulled up to my daughter and I pulled right in behind. The guy in the van opened his door and looked at her, she booked it and jumped in my car. She looked petrified. To that guy.......I hope it was a mistake...I hope you were there to pick up someone and thought my daughter was the person you were waiting for. All though, when you shut your door so quickly and tried to drive off so quickly... it made you seem very guilty. That is why I followed you and spent five minutes beside you, memorizing what you look like, you're vehicle, you're plates......the look of fear on your face......I really hope it was a mistake on your part....if it was a mistake, I am sorry for scaring you........ if you were thinking of doing something to my daughter..... you are lucky that this mom held her fury and decided to just memorize every feature I could...

Idiots destroying park

To the idiots who destroyed the park behind Princess Elizabeth school with their 4-wheelers last Sunday...you have been spotted. That park is a beautiful, peaceful place for people to enjoy walking their dogs, children playing, baseball games at the diamond, etc. and you morons tore it up while illegally riding your loud-as-hell 4-wheelers within city limits, disturbing anyone who happened to be there as well as the people who live there. I'm quite certain there are better places to go than a public park in a residential neighbourhood.

Hit and run

When I was out with my family and friends from Brantford all day I parked my car on the road infront of my house by the curb when we got back I notice there was a big dent on my car. I know you know you hit my car just admit it and be civil about it be accountable for what you did because your car has damage and has paint transfer from my car

Dogs Without Leashes!

To the ignorant dog owners at Devonwood Conservation who allow their dogs to walk off-leash, hundreds of feet ahead of them and without any recall abilities: you are putting your dogs (and any other dogs walking on-leash) in a very dangerous position. Do not be surprised if my dogs, while properly leashed and thus in a vulnerable position, attack or bite your dog if yours charge at them or get in their faces. Do not shout "my dog is friendly" from 100 feet away...mine are too. However, when placed in a situation where they feel threatened and vulnerable (such as being constricted to a 3 foot leash and being quickly approached by a free-running dog), then they can and probably will go into defensive mode and protect themselves.

Yesterday, I saw a large, overweight black dog (chow mix) standing down the pathway, unleashed and without any owners in sight. I froze so that the dog would not see me and my 2 large breed dogs, hoping that the owners would appear and leash him. After a few moments, I saw the owners long down the path, too busy chatting away to check on their dog or even care enough to see if anyone else was around and call their dog back. We were forced to turn around quickly and take another path.

There is also a middle-aged woman who notoriously allows her 2 dogs (large white german shepherd mix and a smaller, dark beagle mix) roam Devonwood with her trailing MINUTES behind them. The first time we stopped well in advance of the dogs and waited for someone to get them. After at least 3 minutes, this rude woman starts to get near them and I asked her to put her dogs on a leash so we could walk by. She shouted at me to "continue walking" and made no attempt to call her dogs back towards her or anything. Another time this happened, her dogs started to run towards mine and so I shouted to her to put her dogs should be on a leash! She told me that her dogs are "friendly" and to just "keep walking". I had good control of my dogs when hers approached mine and was able to move past them quickly BUT, it could have turned bad if her dogs continued to follow us or got in my dogs' faces.

I love all animals and would never want one to get hurt, especially due to the ignorance of an irresponsible owner. So please be responsible and have some respect for those walking the trails with their dogs and have some respect for your own dogs! Leash your dog, keep them safe and enjoy your walk.

Pay attention to the road!

To this white jeep turning off of Arthur onto Pilette. They did a wide turn, making the car in front of me swerve slightly to avoid getting hit, then immediately decided to switch into the left lane either not noticing or not caring that I was right next to them. After barely avoiding an accident, I honked my horn, and then they just stopped in the middle of the intersection at the green light. I don't know if they were texting or just feeling enlighteled thinking they own the road! Distracted driving needs to stop. You could have seriously injured someone! So here's your spotted
