Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
Stolen from my front porch in the night last night minus the top rain cover. Several guys must have been on my porch in the Ottawa street area with a pick up truck. This is a heavy chair and not easy to move. Keep an eye out Windsor on your possessions. I really hope your caught or that somehow payback is returned to you.
Going out on an extreme limb here...
My friends wiener dog was attacked tonight on Carnegie and Oldcott in Lasalle by a husky. There was a guy chasing the husky (I'm assuming it was his that got loose). Looking for anyone who may have seen it happen, or even knows of a husky in the area. My friends dog was hurt badly and in the heat of the moment we wanted to make sure he was ok and didn't get any information from the guy with the husky.
Again I know I'm grasping at straws but hoping for any info.
To all teachers, fulltime & subs: My child has had a problem twice, with substitute teachers not allowing her to go to the bathroom in a timely manner. She had to ask 3 times & wait 30 minutes before the teacher finally said yes. I understand as a sub, you may not know each child well enough to know who is likely to goof around & who doesn't. But, put yourself in a child's shoes for a moment. Think of how you'd feel if you had an accident? Do you think the name "pissy pants" goes away? No. It stays with that child for life. I'm sure we all remember the time a classmate messed themselves, and how that is the 1st thing you remember about that person. Before you say no, so quickly, give the children the benefit of doubt. It may affect they're self esteem for life when you say no. I have instructed my child, as all parents should, to try hard to hold it, but if you are going to have an accident & the teacher still says no, to walk out of the classroom, do her business, then go straight to the principals office to call me. I'll deal with the teacher. And, I won't be to nice about it!
Thanks, jerk, for destroying the bumper of my parked car in the Winners parking lot and just driving away. It was such a treat to return to my car and see my bumper had been hit so hard it fell off. How fast do you have to be flying through a parking lot to detach the bumper from the frame of the car you hit? You know what, next time, just break in and take the valuables too. No need to take responsibility then either. You are a lesser human being and a contributing factor to the decline of humanity.
At 10:07am I pulled over to make a phone call as per the law. Then a Windsor ticket girl came up to me with an attitude and told me to pay the meter or move. Told her I pulled over to make a phone call and she said to pay or she would give me a 20 dollar ticket. The entire street was empty at Wyandotte and Moy! Way to go! One of Windsors workers that prefers me to talk and drive then pulling over to make a call.
Just wanted to warm others, there have been a number of vehicle & garage break ins in the area of South Windsor, between Huron Line & Dominion, off Labelle street the past couple nights around 2am. Windows being smashed, etc. Make sure to bring valuables inside, leave outdoor lights on as there are no/ very little street lights in the area, report any late night wanderers and keep an eye out, secure vehicles & garages, etc. If you have surveillance make sure they are running and notify cops if you see anything. Thanks.
This is a notice to Lakeshore Discovery School (on IC Roy) and your parents.
It baffles me that grown adults lack the forethought to see a disaster in the making and refuse to follow the rules and signs posted for YOUR Children's safety. You continue to use the bus lane as a drop off for your children. In and of itself that doesn't seem like a bad thing to do. However, in doing so you blatantly disregard all signs and rules. You cut off and block in buses that are dropping off other peoples children. You block traffic and make U-turns causing dangerous situations. Other drivers have to dodge your illegal stops and blind turns into oncoming traffic. You are a menace on the road and when the people in the right honk or make questioning gestures you seem to think that you are being wronged and make rude gestures in return. All I'm asking is that you use your God given brains and think before you hurt one their child.
Before anyone comments, I have contacted the School Board, the school (numerous times) and the OPP more times than I can count. I am hoping that this will reach the parents and administration of Lakeshore Discovery School and things will change. However, I don't think I'll hold my breath.
A FRUSTRATED PARENT OF A STUNDENT THAT HAS TO DRIVE PAST THESE PEOPLE EVERYDAY!!!!
