Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
It took place in Lasalle, but the smoke could be seen from Windsor.
The fire took place on a tiny island, making it difficult for firefighter to put it out.
At approximately 7pm I was heading east on Tecumseh Rd E near Central. There was a fair amount of traffic, but we were moving nicely between 50 and 60 km/ hr. As I approched Central Ave, the vehicle in front of me slowed to enter the Shell gas station but had to wait for pedestrians to clear the sidewalk. A few seconds later I was slammed from behind, I could not believe what had happened, the vehicle (description below) pulled up beside me and the driver (30's short brown hair) gave me a dirty look. He pulled back in behind me and I turned into the Central Mall parking lot to see the damage and figured he wanted to stop too.
He pulled into the parking lot behind me, but then sped past me. I followed him though the parking lot and he turned south onto Central Ave, then back in the rear parking lot of the Central Mall. He raced through the parking lot and exited it turning west onto Ypres. He then turned back onto Central heading North, then driving over the grass back in to the rear Central Mall parking lot. Again exited onto Ypres but this time headed east, turning down Aubin towards Tecumseh Rd. I headed back down but he was well ahead of me, when I turned onto Tecumseh Rd E, he was heading east at a rather fast pace.
The vehicle was a Jeep Wrangler (not certain 2 or 4 doors) a very dark grey, almost black. He has damage to his front end since some of his paint was left on my spare tire. Not certain but his license started with something such as BRXK or BXRK.
There were lots of cars out there and he cut people off. Someone must have seen him. Please if you know anything please contact the police. My 6 yr old daughter was in the car and we spent 5 hrs in the ER making sure she was okay.
I was at Food Basics downtown this morning when I spotted this:
Here's to hoping the knuckle dragging miscreants who stole our RV awning from a gated storage facility are spotted somewhere in Windsor. What is wrong with these people?
To the company that runs the concessions at the WFCU Center. I don't understand how you can justify charging the prices you do. Word of advise to anyone going to an event at the WFCU Center. Don't go hungry or thirsty! Speaking to the Manager was like talking to a wall.
I had to bring my infant son to the doctors offices this morning. It was our third visit in the last 6 months. As if bringing your infant to see a specialist isn't stressful enough, each time we are met with the rudest parking lot attendant I have ever encountered. She is an older woman and she never says "hello" or even tells you the total owed. She just glares and sticks her hand out for the money. The last time she didn't even pause in her phone conversation to acknowledge me at all. Today, as usual she didn't greet me or bother to tell me my total. Then, when I went to hand her my $20 bill to pay for my parking she very rudely said that she can't keep making change for $20 bills and that everyone pays with $20's and she doesn't have enough change to get through the day. I politely replied that I only had a $20, so unfortunately she would have to make change or I couldn't pay at all. She glared at me and snapped "I'm not a bank you know" ... Yes, I realize you are not a bank. However, you are a business and it is not my fault that you don't keep enough change for your PAYING customers. Obviously this is a recurring problem, so instead of being rude to customers maybe keep more change on hand? Trust me, I would rather not pay for overpriced parking anyways!
Today I went to Lowe's to get a price match for a DeWalt Miter Saw. Was given the biggest run around by staff. First I needed to find out if the numbers on the box was the same number as the price match at Home Depot. Once accomplished I head back with the manager, only to see the original young lady speaking with the assistant manager. The store promo was buy the saw get a stand for free. Price match should have been complete with stand, so one would think. As manager and I are talking the Asstiant Manager states very rudely and says take the best deal and walks away. Not good for Lowe's business. Unhappy customer equals bad business. Moral of the story Lowe's does not honour the price matches they claim they do. I will never shop at Lowe's again. SINCERLY ONE VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER.
To the girl who hit my green dodge Dakota (tore off my drivers side mirror and almost tore my front bumper off) on the corner of Lincoln and Ontario last night... you were spotted by my neighbor across the street. We will be getting the video footage of you from the cameras right outside our building. The police have been contacted. Thank you for not having the decency to leave your information. We will find you.
