Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
This morning as I was dropping off my 4 year old to school close to the corner of Pillette and Wyandotte in front of the McDonald's, heading westbound A man with a dark blue jacket, with a hood and carrying a cane, darted out in traffic. I saw him coming out and slowed down but the second I realized he wasn't waiting for traffic I had to slam on my brakes, causing a huge scare for us in the car and a almost an accident! Later I found him waiting at a bus stop, Crosstown 2 heading eastbound, with another man and the other gentle man said he saw what happened and said the guy does it all the time and the bus diver said he sees the man doing this all the time!
When i read the newspaper today was very dissapointed with the headline. Windsor police caught with drugs while crossing the border.
What was he thinking? I am very dissapointed. Also, he has put the people that he was crossing the border with at risk. I will now be very careful with whom i cross the border with. You think you know a person, especially in his position. Humiliation to all involved.
To the driver around 8:58am this morning at the Ouellette and Tecuhmse Rd intersection who though it was ok to yell and scream at the Ambulance responding to a call because it was in your way and u get mad because its blocking the intersection u decided to come flying into. Wow have some respect and learn the fact that an emergency vehicle will take procautions in an intersection. Sheesh .
Attention, to those of you who do not know how to properly enter, exit, merge, and/ or change lanes in the double roundabout off Howard- please learn, or take an alternative route. On the daily there is either a fender bender, or a near miss. Talk about defensive driving!
There is a real problem with our public transit in this city, mainly the Walkersville 8 and its tendency to royally screw people who work afternoon shift in Oldcastle. You see the last bus of the night is to arrive at 11:13. But both Monday and Tuesday nights it has come and gone before 11. You can see how this would be a problem for me and the other workers who are relying on that bus to run on schedule. Because the driver has decided to phone it in and do his/ her route as quickly as possible me and other workers have had to get cabs from Oldcastle to various parts of Windsor putting financial strain on downtrodden people. ( getting vets cab to come to Oldcastle is a whole other ordeal...) So please drivers of transit Windsor please review your schedules and do what you're paid for..
Or start paying for my cabs
My family and I were at Malden Park Sunday afternoon. Upon walking up to the water, we saw dozens of dead fish floating around aswell as dozens more struggling as they swam through the dead ones.
I spoke to other women there with their families and we were all disgusted. We brought our kids there to enjoy the weather and nature and instead had to teach our kids about death and try to come up with some explanation as to why this happened.
Not sure who's responsibility it is for this, but I am astounded to see that nobody has taken the initiative to clean this mess.
Drivers beware! The Esso on provincial past Cabana is a rip off. I stopped there for fuel this morning on my way to work. The meter ran up To about 40 cents before the fuel actually started pumping.
I mentioned it to the attendant but he didn't seem to concerned. Probably because he was already fully aware of the problem since something like that can only happen intentionally.
So just be careful about the places u buy ur gas if u want to get the most for ur dollar and not get ripped off by greedy foreigners.
I just want to say thanks a lot to the van that ran a red light at Tecumseh and Lauzon on Saturday evening forcing my son to slam on his breaks to avoid hitting you. It ended up costing him 200.00 to replace his tire as he avoided hitting you and was forced to jump a curb and damaged the sidewall of the tire.
People in a hurry to go nowhere today!!
