Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
While out for a walk with my husband and dog this evening I was hit by a Extra Large Coke from McDonalds. Thanks to the kids who thought it was funny to toss it out of their moving vehicle. And purposely aim it at me. What the heck is wrong with you? Makes me sad that this happens at all... but sadly, this is part of the world we live in. No respect at all. Shame on you!! And I apologize to anyone that may have heard me swear when it hit! It was a bit of a shock..and I was angry.
On Friday July 25/ 14 there was a baseball game at Walker Homesite. Apparently dad was running late so he drove his company pickup truck onto my lawn & parked it under the "NO PARKING" sign, and went to watch his kid play. When I went outside, I saw it & tried to find out who owned it. My husband came out & starting blowing the guys horn & finally after about 10 minutes, someone found him. He appoligized & moved it, but the worse part was how his little friends heckled me (while I walked my dog)for calling his boss. I was embarrased for him & them. I had left a message for his boss to call me & since he apparently doesn't care about how his employees behave with the company pickups, I figured I would post it here. Hope it's okay that he drives his son in it too!
County road six, the bridge over the Dougall parkway, two boys on bikes one blue shirt one grey, throwing things over the bridge into on coming traffic, the police have been notified, have your photo, enjoy! - from the lady at the stopped traffic light.
Warning - do not rent from National Car Rental - airport. I recently rented a car from them, was booked since December 2013. I received my invoice with a total amount due at counter on it. When I returned the car they tacked on an "other" charge of $67.00. No where in my contract did it say anything about this charge will be added on. They said nothing we can do, it's the airport security charge! WHAT? Two days prior I rented from Budget for 2 days since I had arrived early and they didn't charge me this so called "airport security fee"! Very bad business, I should have at the very least been informed when I rented the car at the desk this charge would be added on. I will NEVER rent a car from National again.
I was waiting at Chatham & Goyeau, to cross the street, and return home from walking my dog. You were in your enormous SUV, across the intersection from us. No indicator on, so I assumed you were continuing straight on Goyeau. The light changed, and my dog and I walked into the intersection. You pulled forward, and started turning left. I thought to myself, "He sees us, right?" I mean, I'm 5'7", and was wearing bright colors, and was, you know, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I'd like to think I'm at least sightly noticeable.
Nope.
You continued turning, and I realized you were going to hit us. I yanked my dog out in front of me, and we started running through the intersection. You didn't see us until you were totally in the crosswalk, and then you slammed on the brakes. I wasn't six inches away from your window when you stopped. I got a clear look at your face, and I'm pretty sure you got a good look at me. You're a white man, most likely in your early 70's. You've got a full head of hair, some pretty distinctive eyeglasses, and an impressive set of jowls. And rather than stop to ask if I was okay, or to apologize, you gunned the motor, and sped off.
You weren't fast enough. I got your plate number. I spoke to three people that witnessed your actions, all of whom were kind enough to give me their names and contact info. I have spoken to the police. Hopefully, they will make a call on you, and convince you to give up your license. You nearly ran me over, in broad daylight. You weren't looking where you were going, you weren't being diligent in checking your surroundings before making that turn, and worst of all, you were less concerned about the person you nearly hit, than you were about yourself. You don't belong on the road - you're a hazard.
Three lane changes,no signals on a busy,Lauzon Parkway at 10:10 am this morning. I couldn't catch him to let him know his signals weren't working.
Did he care.Not likely.
You are spotted.
To the kid who stole a girls purse as she was walking just remember karma comes full tilt. To the girl, I'm sorry that when I caught the kid ditching the purse I couldn't spin my car around fast enough and returned it empty. From what your friend or sibling said you were leaving on vacation I hope that you can still enjoy it. You kept asking how someone could do such a thing, unfortunately some times bad things happen to good people.
