Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
During the winter months we like to build a huge ice rink, where we also have a weekend/ day of ice skating and bonfires etc. for family and friends and patrons of our marina. This is Private Property and the rink is situated at a dead end of the marina. So there is no reason for a sled to even go down that patch of snow.
Just on Saturday alone we spent 6 hours prepping the rink and flooded it. (We had already spent 10 hours on the rink before the additional 6 hours) Sunday came and so did the snow. On Monday we went to shovel it off but realized that the ice was slushy and we would have to wait a day or two before we could get back to work on it.
Not even a mere 30 seconds later two Ski-Doo's come flying into the rink RIGHT next to the nets. One guy got stuck, the other one took off and parked his sled on firmer snow. He walked over and helped his friend out but not before putting his leg through the auger hole for the water pump. Which was kind of Karma in my mind.
The point I'm making is the sledders have no respect for peoples ice rinks. We had THREE in the area and they were all destroyed by Ski-Doo's. It's time to take a step back and respect peoples hard work... Its easy to plow though on a sled and destroy someones rink. But why when you have the whole lake at your disposal? Now the part that really pisses me off is that they see the damn nets and the outline of an ice rink, but don't bother stopping BEFORE the net, and continue on over the rink...
Thanks to the two guys on Monday at Pike Creek. You know who you are. Apologizing is one thing... Coming back to help fix it is another.
Our new Mayor, Drew Dilkins, claiming on the news last night that every major road has been cleared! This morning I have spotted seven vehicles on University Ave within two blocks of my house all stuck in the snow because the plows haven't even bothered to come down our street yet! Is University Avenue not considered a major street unless it is within a couple of blocks of the casino? Shame on the City for neglecting University avenue time and time again!
Someone hit my Blue 2 door Honda civic on Erie between Pierre and Marion sometime between 11am and 4 pm today February 2 . they left no info but Erie is pretty populated so I'm hoping someone seen this. If u have email me at vlorad91@live.com or text/ call 2262461083
Woke up to the plows plowing snow right up against our car, 4 feet of hard snow against it, thanks a lot to whoever plows our street. Maybe next time be a bit more careful and considerate of people's vehicles
I was rear-ended at the corner of Lauzon and Wyandotte today around 2pm. Guy got out of his vehicle and said lets pull over to the parking lot. I agreed. I thought he was pulling into the parking lit, but he turned east onto Wyandotte and took off. Unfortunately, I did not get his plate number. I am hoping someone saw the accident and can help me out. The vehicle was a black suped up Ford F150. Thank you
Thursday evening my vehicle broke down. I called Abram's for a tow. The lady told me it would be a 60 minute wait. After 75 minutes I called again. The lady told me the driver was stuck at a train crossing on Walker Rd, and would be their in 10 minutes. 30 minutes passed and still no tow truck. I called Myer's and they arrived in 10 minutes. I still haven't heard from Abram's !!
If you need a tow, don't call Abram's, call Meyer's !!
Today after school, I was getting on the bus I normally take home from school (parent 14) at holy names high school. Today had been a good day it was the first day of second semester which meant no homework and of course it was finally the weekend. When I walked onto my bus I politely smiled at the bus driver and said hello, there was no response just an unpolite glare. This bus driver who I have had numerous times was in the same mood he is always in, a horrible one. Next time the students at my school and I would appreciate if you were more polite to us, YOU chose your job so learn to enjoy it and the people youre surrounded by on the job. Sincerely, a student who you made upset
Just spotted a white and grey cat who seems to have an injured back right paw/ leg. He was wandering down the sidewalk going east down Queen Elizabeth drive in the Fountain Blue area around 5:15pm. I could not get to him/ her to help so if you are in the area or live around there please keep an eye out for him/ her. I don't live in the area so this could be someone's pet. Hoping someone can help this little guy.
