Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
To the douche-bag who broke into my car, and took my & my husband's new workout gloves...really? Are you that desperate? What exactly do you plan to do with ladies leopard print workout gloves? I assume you're going to hawk them for drugs...or cigarettes, since you left some ash on the front passenger side seat. I realize in the grand scheme of things, we got off lucky. However, you've managed to steal my peace of mind... I will now be investing in some security measures, to try and prevent this from happening again. As if it's not obvious, please keep an eye on your vehicles, lock your doors, and do not leave anything of value in your vehicle, even if it's hidden. This happened near Chappell & Matchette, just off of Mic Mac Park. Thank you.
People in LaSalle, please use all lanes and zipper.
Everyday at rush hour when anyone attempts to merg on Malden road it turns into a war zone.
You have people cut you off as you attempt to merg, they shoot you the finger, swear, it's ridiculous.
Traffic is insane at rush hour and it would certainly help if we could all just get along and follow the rules.
Not to mention the congestion would dissipate if everyone just chilled out and zippered away 🙌
This morning while awaiting my turn to make a left from dominion onto cabana, the impatient driver behind me was beeping their horn and pulling behind me as close as possible.
I guess they like some other's don't realize
Dominion at that spot is a ONE LANE ROAD and they just had to put on their patience panties and await their turn. I was also waiting for some younger students to cross before i could go. Dominion is a road that from roselawn to cabana has 2 grade schools with very young children crossing. To those that think I'm gonna move over for you to go when its one lane never gonna happen....wait your turn or go down Dougall its got 2 lanes.
was informed some residents on the street are getting plates/ videos of speeders flying down the residential road. So im sure it will be patrolled a lot more often.
I understand that people can be frustrated at times driving in the city but the middle aged bald man in the black dodge ram pickup truck this morning was the worst I've ever encountered. I take the same route every day so I know the red lights, pot holes etc. I take Central over the EC overpass, turn right on Deziel Road and left on Mannehim towards St. Etienne Blvd. He was following so closely that I was afraid to touch my brakes. I made sure not to antagonize him farther so I drove slightly above the speed limit. On St. Etienne Blvd he drove beside me very aggressively and veering towards me as to scare me. He sped off in front of me. Moments later I am behind him at the traffic light on Walker and Foster. He then gets out of his truck comes to my window and is swearing and yelling at me for "brake checking" him. Almost comical but his anger was palpable. He then proceeds to drive beside me on Walker, revving his engine and coming over the yellow line towards me. I watched him pull into the Windsor Airport but I wasn't comfortable approaching him. I didn't get a clear pic of his licence plate because I was shaking too much. Was it worth it sir? How dong did it take your heart rate to get back to normal?
I am just your average Caucasian middle aged woman, been driving accident free since 1980 when I got my licence. I have noticed lately that drivers are getting more and more aggressive lately. What's going on? Any ideas ? What can we do to alleviate this to make the roads a safer place to be?
To the driver hauling brush on the expressway this morning around 10:25 am. You sir / madam, need to learn the necessity of securing your load! I don't know how that piece of tree managed to come off of your truck and land in the middle of the westbound Lane! The traffic was extremely heavy and the drivers around me had to slam on their brakes and swerve to miss other cars that were trying to miss that piece of tree. Thank you to all the drivers around meith quick reflexes that were paying attention. Thank you to the gentleman that got out of his pickup truck behind me, after almost rear-ending me, to pull that piece of tree off the road. This could have been the worst Monday morning for many people. To the driver again, you should consider yourself very lucky that you are not being held responsible for several injuries and possible deaths this morning. I hope you see this post and understand the gravity of your error. Do better!!
On Sept 19 we were at Hotel Dieu Hospital and witnessed a woman trying to take a wheelchair away from a volunteer. They are only allotted so many for the fifth floor to take patients down to the exit after a procedure. This woman eventually forced he wheelchair away from the volunteer then brought it back several hours later and tried to apologize. I hope she sees this as she was extremely rude and selfish.
Everyday I drive on Dominion and everyday I have come close to being hit head on. Going up dominion towards cabana at the curve it never fails that the cars coming north around the curve are going over 60mph or more, the POSTED SPEED is 20mph for that curve for a reason, many of these cars end up crossing the line due to their speed into my lane coming straight at me. I can see the shocked looks on their faces, I'm sure they see the terror on mine.
It seems to worsen with the start of the school year.
2. Are the drivers that feel they have the right of way to come into my lane when there is a legally parked car on the street instead of waiting for me to pass and causing a back up of cars because now the cars behind me can't go anywhere until these impaitent drivers get by. Or that can't stop to let someone turn into their driveway again causing a back up.
I don't understand why people find it so difficult to follow the rules it would keep traffic flowing and avoid unnecessary backups on a busy street. I love when I see the cops pull them over .more copa need to patrol this area during morning/ afternoon rush hours its a gold mine.
To the person who broke into my fiances car by smashing his window while he was in class, I hope you enjoy the two bags of dirty gym and work clothes and cheap amazon speaker you got away with. It's all you deserve. I'm not sure how you sleep at night knowing you steal from already broke university students adding on to their already stressful lives.
