Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
Many thanks to the person that turned in my phone to the ScotiaBank at Lauzon Parkway. I had left it at the ATM and they kindly brought it to the service desk where they texted my husband. I got the message at work and was able to pick it up...thanks a lot!
While at the Windsor Spitfires game tonight I witnessed a very kind and heartwarming act. A Spitfire official (the one who stands in the penalty box) took a game used puck and handed it to a young boy who was sitting quietly in the stands enjoying the game with his Dad. To that official, what a sweet gesture....you've been spotted!
A big thank you to the young man, I think they are called "snow angels", who came to shovel my sidewalk and driveway after the last snow 2 days ago, it was so cold! You were dressed in a black coat and wearing a tie. You really made my day. Now I know why they call you angels. May God bless you!
So there are good kind people left in the world. To all my facebook friends I'm asking all of you if you need fruits and veggies please go into louies on cabana and howard next to arnone bakery. Soooo I thought I would stop in to see a new little fruit and veggie place that opened, I go in with my daughter the man working is obviously the struggling new owner and welcomed us very kindly. I go to the cash register to pay for my items and being an interac queen I had no cash, I ask the man do you take interac prior to him ringing in my purchase and he responded "don't worry about it," I found that odd but assumed ya they must take it. He rings in my entire purchase which was dirt cheap for the amount I bought and says to me" ma'am you have a wonderful day and whenever you get a chance to pay your total is 20.23." Of course I was shocked and I said no just leave the groceries here I'll run next door to the atm and get the cash. He wasn't having any of it he said "no don't worry about it whenever your in the area stop by and pay." Needless to say both my daughter and I were flabbergasted, so of course I go to the car to scavange my change and find 21.00. I bring it in to him say thank you and go to the car. The man comes running out after me and says ma'am you gave me too much 20 is fine, I refuse to take the dollar he hands it to my daughter and says honey buy your mom a coffee from me. I am so amazed and endeared in this day and age for someone to be so kind, I did call ctv news about the story they took my number and said they will let me know if the story is worth running and I also left a message for windsor star. In all this screwed up news we hear I certainly think that this is a story worth writing and running in the news, if they won't I will. So please everyone if you get a chance stop in and give this kind caring person the business he so deserves, Louies fruits and veggies on cabana and howard. Cheers and God Bless we have alot to learn from this man."
To the cashier at the Tecumseh Mall Shoppers this afternoon. I don't believe it was professional for your manager to scold you on the sales floor because you called her to authorize an exchange. I could see you were a little shaken after the fact, and then having to serve customers immediately after while trying to keep it together is incredibly difficult. You have always been pleasant and polite the few time I've gone through your line, so I hope you had a better shift afterwards.
today while in line at the gas station after pumping $30 dollars of gas I went in to pay. After a few attempts i couldn't finish paying for my gas because my chip on the bank card wouldn't work. After trying a few different methods we still had no luck. I was so embarrassed and didn't know what to do. I told the clerk I can call my boyfriend to come here and bring me money or run to the bank and come back. He said OK I could do either one but to leave some ID behind because he had been ripped off before. I had no problem with that and handed him my cell phone(which i keep locked) and said you hold onto this. As I was walking out the gentleman behind me told me to wait. He went up to the clerk and said he would just pay for mine and his gas together. I thanked him and said If he doesn't mind to just follow me down the road to CIBC and I will get him the cash. He looked at me and smiled saying "don't worry about it, just remember if you are ever in a situation to help someone please do it" He walked away and I started to tear up as I grabbed my cell phone from the clerk.
To that man, thank you very much. that was one of the kindest things a stranger has ever done for me. I really hope I can give that same feeling to someone else as you did to me today.

A shocked and grateful lady
to the red truck who paid for my breakfast/ coffee this morning. I pulled up to the window and they told me it was paid for. At first it didn't click in and I was handing her my money. She asked "what would you like me to do with this?" I said I wanted to pay for my order, and she repeated again it was already paid for by you. So I told her to pay for the order behind me. Thank you for opening my eyes, I never thought this would happen to me so randomly.

a shocked girl who is going to talk about this for the next week for sure.
