To my neighbours who not only helped me, but also the lady next door to me, clear our driveways. They saw us shoveling and didn't even hesitate to come help. I was not expecting the help but am very thankful for it.

I want to give a BIG shout out to the Central 3 Driver who is such a pleasure each day! He runs the 7:39am bus at Ouellette and Wyandotte. Today with the horrible storm he was actually stopping and picking up high school kids he saw walking down the street at no cost and bringing them to school. He is always so friendly and makes it a point to tell each student everyday how important it is for them to attend school. The weather was horrible and as a parent I would not want my child to walk in that before a day of learning and thanks to him those kids got to school on time and dry and warm!

I need help when trying to find a personal company that will come and do snow removal for a small parking lot and side walks , We did have someone in the building that would do it but he recently quit and we have 2 tenants, 1 person that has to use a walker and she can't get out at all cause of the snow and we have a 60 year old women that has a bad knee n cannot walk through the snow.. so could someone please help me so that i can tell my landlord . thank you

Props to the neighbor on Waterford Ave. for snow blowing the sidewalk the entire length of our street!!!

A dear friend said good bye to his BEST buddy yesterday and laid him to rest...even man's best friend is not immune to the horrible thief cancer is!

LAST NIGHT

I stood by your bed last night,

I could see that you were crying,
You found it hard to sleep.

I whined to you softly
as you brushed away a tear,
"It's me, Satche, I haven't left you,
I'm well Dad I'm fine, I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast,
I watched you look around for me,
You were thinking of the many times,
your hands reached down to me.

I was with you at the Gym today,
Your arms were getting sore.
I longed to lick your cheek Dad,
I wish I could do more.

I was with you in the truck today,
You drive it with such care.
I want to re-assure you,
that I'm always with you there.

I walked with you towards the house,
as you fumbled for your key.
I gently put my paw on you,
I smiled and said " it's me."

You looked so very tired Dad
As you sank into my chair.
I tried so hard to let you know,
that I was standing there.

It's possible for me,
to be so near you everyday.
To say to you with certainty,
"Im never far away."

You sat there very quietly,
then smiled, I think you knew...
In the stillness of that evening,
I was very close to you.

The day is over...
I climb up on your bed...
I smile and watch you yawning
as you pat a top Caine's head
I'll see you in the morning Dad."

And when the time is right for you
to cross the brief divide,

With Freak and Mama by my side.

I'm writing today because of two wonderful people who are always here to shovel my driveway and sidewalk because I have a bad back ( I'm 27 ) but not only do they do my sidewalk and driveway, they also do my elderly neighbours as well. They are my snow angels in every sense! I love you guys!
