Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
Last week, when the entire city was out of salt, I was on my way home from work early in the morning (work midnight) After stopping at a few stores and enquiring by phone at Canadian Tire as to salt availability and coming up empty handed, I had tried one last store near my house, which also was out! However, by chance, a young man in the store making a purchase had offered his 40 kg bag of salt to me which he happened to keep in the back of his pick up to help keep steady on the roads. My house was very close by so, it had been dropped off in no time. He only wanted $5. for it but I gave him 10. * and shared some with my neighbour.
To the kind person that found my purse at Walmart on Saturday,
Thank you so much! It is the first time I have ever lost my purse and I was freaking out.
I am truly thankful:)
Thanks again,
The girl with the black studded purse.
Thank you Abrahams Towing for helping us and changing our tire when CAA couldn't! You saved us a tow and a mechanic! You were a very kind gentleman who came to our rescue in the freezing cold
Proud of my 10year old daughter who did and amazing job at her homework assignment from her social class. She was to do 5 good deeds, 2 at home and 3 with strangers.
She did four loads of laundry, sweep and mop our house. Then asked to be taken to the mall where she help 10 people in the food court put away all their food trays (she had finish her assignment) but then asked to go to tim's. Surprise...she gave the cashier her tooth fairy money and paid for the next few orders! Amazing how she when be on her assignment and made me one proud mama!
To my 85 year old neighbour Bob.
I saw you today shovel in your double lot driveway. I couldn't help myself. I had to come help you shovel.
I have never met anyone, in my entire life, who was so appreciative. Offering to pay me every time I shovel for you?!
Hell no!!!!
To the kid who actually took $120.00 to shovel their driveway for the entire season, who never came back....
SCREW YOU! You should be ashamed of yourself.
How dare you take from this elderly couple. Who raised you?
Bob; I doubt you will ever see this. I want you to know that I am here no matter what you need, and I will continue to help you out, for free!
Everyone reading this; if you know of an elderly neighbour who needs help, please help them. My dad at 73 years old suffered a massive heart attack and lived (thank whoever you will) please help those who need.
A small at of kindness and selflessness goes aing way.
Signed: a you'd girl who is battling the burden of winter as much as the next person.
I received a card today from someone I dont even know. I have very recently become a Breast Cancer SURVIVOR , This was a card of Congratulations. Inside she wrote to me she understood what I had been through and what was yet to come. She gave a little insight to her own journey and what made her feel better. This card and what she wrote brought tears to my eyes, and this card was from a stranger. it was signed Kathy ( a supportive cancer survivor) I have to say, Kathy Thank You!!!! It meant so much to me and I will pay it forward to another cancer patient. No one really knows till they have been there, And Kathy My song used to be "I was in my early forties,
"With a lot of life before me,
"An' a moment came that stopped me on a dime.
"I spent most of the next days,
"Looking at the x-rays,
"An' talking 'bout the options an' talkin bout sweet time."
I asked him when it sank in,
That this might really be the real end?
How s it hit you when you get that kind of news?
Now my song is ,
Honestly I wanna see you be brave!!!!!!

To all the people who help those who have gotten their vehicles stuck in snow. Whether it be by pushing, pulling, shovelling or laying down gripping material - you have been spotted! At least 5 people have helped me this winter season and I've witnessed many more. Keep being awesome. Every person needs some help sometimes :)
