Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
We're is the best poutine in the city? Just got this bad boy at franchise.
I want to thank the two men (An older man with a grey beard and a brown jacket who was walking nearby, and a renovation contractor in his big, white truck) who came to help me push my car out of a deep groove (from the icy un-plowed side streets) at the corner of Lillian and Erie St. East at around 1:20pm on Mon., Feb. 24th!!
Both of you were kind enough to come help me without me having to ask you, and I really, so very much appreciate your kindness because I was in a hurry to go somewhere!
I will remember to pay it forward! Thank you!
It's very eye-opening to see the true heart of Windsor & Essex County by our family's participation in the "Coldest Night of The Year" Walk for the Downtown Mission (Charity Event last Saturday, Feb 22). People gathered by the hundreds at the Downtown Mission to walk 5km or 10km along the icy sidewalks of downtown Windsor. All participants were given the event hats to wear along our tour of some of the streets that are occupied by many people who truly need our help, from the homeless to Windsorites who have almost lost everything in these tough times. Streets that were once beautiful and vibrant with businesses have now become mere ghost buildings that stand waiting to be occupied again, but are sadly falling apart. My wife asked if we, as a family, could participate in this event as her birthday present. I can honestly say that we are proud to have raised some pledge money to help the people in need in Windsor and could see that every other walker felt the same pride. Well done Windsor, well done. And thank you to my wife who teaches me to be a better person every day of our lives.
Hello spotted, seen this on my news feed, heard this happened today!
These great kids made baby hats to donated to local hospitals at the Lasalle Public Library. As part of the Learn to Loom with LeeLee Hats. This once a month event is always a hit and kids are encouraged to attend. Great job ladies!
Just drove down the street and saw this, love the Canadian Olympic Pride!
The subway near patillo in tecumseh is so unprofessional. I will never eat here again. Dont wash their hands, takes an hour to make a sub, rude and very untrained employees. The manager seemed even more unprofessional and was extremely rude. If you want a sub made properly and fast do not go here. Wouldnt surprise me if I get food poisoning. You should never touch money from a costumer then handle someones food....ew
I was visiting the downtown business accelerator to see my friend. I was surprised when he showed me what he's been working on with his team. It blew me away to see home decor products come to life using an iPad. I couldn't believe how great the idea is. He told me soon I'll be able to bring home decor products to life before I buy them. Windsor is full of entrepreneurs I didn't even know existed! You can check out their website here --- http:/ / www.envisionvirtualshowroom.com
