Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
Today I was walking home from the food bank, after a day of meetings and appointments with my disability case worker, carrying the very heavy box of food plus a shopping bag that the Goodfellows gave me. I don't live far, but the weight of the box over took me and I set it down. When I went to start walking again, the box split right open! I am so grateful to the sweet family who piled me and my heavy food and broken box into their car and gave me a ride home.
I received a lot of generosity and kindness from a lot of Windsorites today and I am forever grateful.
I am a frequent casino guest and I know you deserve to be treated better!!! Ever since Caesars took over that casino, employees have been shafted in so many ways, so many times too. When Artisan closed so many people got displaced or lost their jobs. Do you Caesars realize how many employees you screwed over??? Yes, screwed over!!! But why would you care, they are the seasoned, professional, friendly and caring staff that many of us enjoy when we go to the casino. I've been going for years and dare say, without them well...you'd definitely be in a bind!! Valet is unbelievable at times, not their fault they don't have enough people out there for the job!! The Buffet well that's another story, so short staffed most of the time, the staff that are there are way overrun!!! Sections get closed although there are line ups, why, no staff!!! Yet go figure Caesars doesn't get it, if you have to wait in line for an hour or 2+...you are not playing and paying!!! There is no fare pay structure, job security is definitely not there at all, as for benefits well they could most certainly improve as well. People probably think all Caesars Windsor employees make really good money, guess again!!! I think those who have been there for years should get retro raises!!! Imagine working for a company for 20 years and making $16/ $17 an hour, yet the minimum wage is now $14? Hardly seems fair!!!! Yes I realize a career change could be possible but, everyone knows you get comfortable, you accept little because you are afraid to jump into the unknown, lifers!! However, when job security is a factor when the company decides to dismantle people, you stress about uncertainty!! We all go for the entertainment however, we do appreciate the wonderful employees!!!! Caesars employees you will be missed during this strike but.
GO FOR WHAT'S DESERVED, Including RESPECT!!!!!
I would like to thank Ron at RK automotive for the excellent service I received. I needed a battery changed back in October, and it recently failed. When I brought it back for servicing, he found my vehicle was the issue and recommended I bring it to my dealership as it was still under warranty. Ron warned me that the dealership would probably blame the battery for the issue. He said he would take the battery back for a full refund if that was the case, even though he wasn't neglegent. Ron refunded me at full cost. I will continue to use his services in the future! If you need any work done, please go to RK automotive! He is trustful and cares about his customers and quality of work.
Thank you!!!! Thank you to the gentleman who paid for dinner tonight. I have been sick the last few days and tonight I sent my son to grab dinner. I have no idea what happened because my card wasn't working. Coming from a sick momma you have no idea how much I appreciate it.
Thank you ❤️
My husband and daughter went out to Petsmart on Dougall Avenue on Monday April 2, 2018 to look for another cat. My husband had my daughter's Samsung tablet with them. He had to buckle her in the back seat of the car and proceeded to put the tablet on the roof of the car (dumb move) He then proceeded to drive home, he then noticed the tablet was missing from the vehicle (he thought someone had stolen it from the car) He then received a telephone call from the Windsor Police advising him that someone had returned the tablet to them. I would just love to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to an incredibly amazing person who returned the tablet (as the tablet was not locked and was in one complete piece after falling of the roof of the car) You have many blessings coming your way !!!! Thank you from my 5 year old daughter who would of been heartbroken at losing it :)
Thank you to the beautiful soul in the silver VW that paid for my coffee at the Emeryville Tim Hortons this morning!! You inspired me on a very gloomy and sad morning! Thank you for the ray of hope!
I'm just getting back to working out after being really sick and today was my first day of personal training. I'm really overweight and am trying hard to get to a much healthier place for myself and my four kids. When I walked into the gym at the Y this morning (March 23), I was feeling tired and anxious. There was a gentleman on the first bike who stopped me and said, "Hey. We're here and that's what counts!" I want to thank him, because that little bit of encouragement changed the entire course of my workout and helped to remind me of why I'm in there every day. So, thank you, sir. You're awesome!!
To the driver of the black dodge caravan.
I spent the night up with my child because she was unable to sleep due to illness. I misplaced my keys to my car and had to call an uber for a ride to work. I was dreading going into work because of how cranky and grumpy I would be because of how bad my morning had been. As I waited in the backseat of my ride in line at the drivethru I started thinking about how difficult my day is going to be and how hard it was to go grocery shopping if I can't find my keys. We drove up to the window and the lady said "today is your lucky day, the vehicle ahead of you paid for your order." Out of all the things that went wrong and were going to go wrong today, you provided some light. Thank you so much for taking the time to care about the random stranger behind you. I have never thought to pay for an order behind me because it's never happened to me. I read about it or someone might tell me it happened to them but I would just think it wouldn't be that big of a deal. It happened to me, and I can tell you that it made my morning. Suddenly the day seemed easier to tackle. I felt more confident that it actually is possible to make it through the day without falling apart. A coffee and a breakfast sandwich paid for by a stranger gave me hope and made me happy, so weird.
So to that driver in that black dodge caravan, thank you for knowing that you just made someone's day 100% better. I hope me paying for the order behind me had the same outcome.
Have A blessed day!!!
