Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
I want to send a shout to the Ouellette Wendy's workers Hope, Justin and Sam. You guys are wonderful. I come in every now and then in the evening, and there you are smiling and helping me and those ladies that sit in the corner.
Justin, you are a lovely young man and I am always happy to see you working and being patient when I order really slowly. You've never shown impatience and you help me chose my orders when I don't know what to eat. You make sure I have everything before I leave and when I go through drive through you smile and ask how I am, it's a small gesture, but I live alone and usually those small gestures are all I get through the day.
Sam, I have only been served by you twice, but you've been great. Thank you for ensuring I have fresh coffee and that I get a refill when I need it (even before I ask, you have one ready). You are always smiling and seem genuine in wanting to serve me and care about what I have to say when I talk to you about mundane home-life. I think you are a lovely person and that your personality shines through amazingly in the smile of yours.
Hope, you are beautiful and helpful and have a lovely people-person personality. You've always ensured that every order I make is repeated and done exactly as I ask. I always enjoy getting food that you make and usually check for you in the back with your red lipstick, you wear it well and it looks wonderful on you, please never stop wearing it! It's become my identifier of you!
I hope you are all well, I will be coming back every time you guys are working. I wish I had money to give you all tips, or maybe a winning lotto ticket. Thank you for being caring, lovely and patient with you. I think you all deserve a raise! You three are the reason I keep coming back!!
With all the comments I have made as to how impressed I was as an ex-citizen of the City of Windsor, I just wanted to say that I am currently visiting Windsor at the moment. I just wanted to say that I am very happy with my visit.
On Monday, I went to the casino to have something to eat at the buffet and I wanted to thank the staff and the casino guards for taking the time to talk to me when I went to the casino. Also, I wanted to thank the pharmacy staff at Shoppers Drug Mart for allowing me to refill my Ventolin Inhaler prescription even though my refills were over three years old. I also wanted to tell the two girls that held the door for me at Lifestyle Family Fitness that I really appreciated you holding the door as well for me and also I wanted to tell Corey that I really enjoyed your Cardio Dance Fusion class at the gym.
I also wanted to thank Jenn and Shannon and the Quality Suites employees for making my stay very memorable while I was in Windsor. Furthermore, I wanted to tell Jenn that I really appreciate the fact that I appreciate the umbrella that you allowed me to borrow when I went out to the MediaPlex.
I also wanted to say "thank you" to my former Tourism and Travel teacher Debbie for her hard work and dedication to St. Clair College in going above the "extra mile" for the students.
Last but not least, I wanted to thank Dr. Hammond and her staff for allowing me to come in for my doctors appointment today which I had to cancel at the last minute without a missed appointment charge. Also, I wanted to thank all the bus drivers for being nice to me and for talking to me while I was heading to my destinations.
The very last thank you I wanted to say was to Kim at Pizza Hut on Dougall Avenue for accommodating me in ensuring that the kitchen staff had some cheese pizza available for me at the buffet and also for remembering my order for water even though I have not been there for over a year. Thanks again! :)
I have to say, Windsor has some awesome people and I had a wonderful trip. It will be sad for me to leave tomorrow.
From the guy that really believes that Windsor has some of the best people in Southern Ontario. :)
I was walking down Central towards Tecumseh rd today (Apr 29th) around 430pm give or take, with my 19mth old in a stroller.
As we were walking, we could hear an ambulance coming up. It then turned onto Central from Tecumseh rd & was coming our way. As it got closer, the sirens obviously got louder. My daughter was not a fan of how loud they were getting & was trying to cover her ears. Apparently even though the ambulance driver was obviously heading to a call, they noticed my daughter not liking the sirens & shut them off, and didn't turn them back on until they were a bit past us!
I know we all know how loud ambulance sirens can be, & as much as my daughter hated how loud it was, I know when they're on its because they're off to help someone in need so can't be mad at it. I just thought it was so nice they noticed my daughter & shut them off for her.
So to whoever was driving the ambulance, thank you so much!!
To the lady this morning that was driving near Grand Marais and Walker rd. I was walking to work and was only about 1 minute away but you stopped and asked me where I was headed and if I needed a ride somewhere because it was raining.
I just wanted to thank you for your kindness and tell you I really appreciate it!
I had day surgery yesterday at Met hospital.
My nurse Dawn was such a kind, caring, friendly, compassionate lady.
I was so nervous about my surgery.
She was so comforting & even held my hand until I went to sleepā„
I just wanted to thank her and let her know how much I appreciated everything she did.
Dr Patel and the other staff were amazing as well.
I was having a bite with my daughter in the Arby's on Howard the other day, when a man nearby started to choke. It happened quite suddenly. As most of us watched on, struck dumb with panic, a guy walks up behind the poor man, and promptly gives him the Heimlich maneuver. Almost instantly the choker's face shifted from bright red to a much healthier colour. Within seconds he was breathing just fine.
Even though he may have literally just saved a persons life, the guy was pretty casual about the whole thing and just seemed happy he could help.
I'm just curious to hear people's feelings on the condition of the Ganatchio Trail? (sorry if spelling isn't correct)
Does anyone else feel that it should be paved over so it's nice, flat, and smooth again? I've been a frequent user of the trail throughout my life and would love to see it look a little nicer. Windsor is the city always under construction, so what's stopping anybody from improving the trail? Sincerely, a curious rollerblader.
I went for a walk with my nieces and nephew at Ojibway and we stopped to sit on the bench. This deer walked right up to us. So beautiful
