Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
My sister was walking down University Avenue today in front of the Tim Horton's and spotted something near the middle of the road. She walked closer to it and it never moved she then realized it was a small bird. The bird's leg was broken pretty badly and couldn't move much. She directed the bird to the side of the road so it wouldn't get hit by a car. A man pulled in to the Tim Horton's parking lot and proceeded to help my sister move the bird safely to the side walk. Others also responded to seeing my sister helping the little bird. Anyways, just wanted to thank everyone who was considerate enough to the take the time out of their daily lives to help the bird out and bring it to safe grounds. Thank you.
I would like to acknowledge the staff at my local Home Hardware on Seminole...they are all so helpful and friendly. They go above and beyond to help their customers. A wonderful place to shop. Thank you all!
I was just at Freshco on Wyandote at Frank, and came in with two shopping bags loaded down with groceries, but no quarter for a cart, so I grabbed a basket, and hunted down an employee and asked if they had any loose carts around, as I didn't have a quarter for one, and it would be a pain to lug my bags plus the basket. Well, James got the key for the carts, and went outside to get me one, no questions asked!
When I was checking out, I didn't get the cashiers name (don't have my receipt handy), gave me an extra bag and wouldn't accept the dime I offered her for it, and she grabbed a bunch more and helped me repack things so they wouldn't be as heavy, as well as having one of the guys call a taxi for me, so I wouldn't have to lug everything home on the bus.
I did call the store and spoke to a manager, and gave them kudos with him, but had to share my awesome experience with you all!
A couple weeks ago we found this wonderful little gem on Manning Road called Pottery & Palette's. I took my son there to create a Father's Day gift. The ladies there were so incredible, encouraging his creativity in painting his mug, and were just so sweet. A friend and her daughter met us there right as we were finishing up. As we were waiting for them, my son just wanted to help with her painting so the ladies got him a little tile to work on of his own. When we picked up his mug today, they had also finished his tile and added a special touch to put up to create an art corner in our house for all of his work. These girls are beyond sweet and absolutely deserve to be recognized!! If you are looking for a great place to bring your kids for a fun, creative day, this is it!

At about 2:30 am I heard a choir of people singing and weird music to follow. This would only happen for a few seconds and then would dissipate. I sleep with the window open so I figured a neighbor was watching a movie.
But this assumption soon went away because the weird music would continue, sounding far away then very close, and would only last for a few seconds every time. I figured if someone was watching a movie the volume wouldn't be fluctuating so much.
I have no clue what type of music was being played as I have never heard anything like it. The only instrument I noticed were trumpets or some sort of brass instruments. The rest of the instruments I could not distinguish.
This went on until about 3:00 AM when I finally closed my window and turned on my AC, not sure how much longer it would have gone one for.
Anyone else hear this strange music?
