Overnight employee at 7-Eleven.

This is to the employee working overnight last night at the 7-Eleven Tec. W. @ McD. You do a fantastic job even with customers coming at you from all directions. Fast, efficient, knowledgeable, and you talk like you're real. Keep going with that. Great fit for the place. The chain needs more of you. :)

Umbrella-ella

I was running behind and left the house without my umbrella or rain coat, I just grabbed my sweater and left running to catch my bus. When I get to my stop, there was a young lady waiting with her umbrella. While I tried to get my stuff together and put on my sweater, she came over to my side and provided cover. I'll admit, I was surprised, I thanked her a couple times. It was a bit awkward, but not the wierd kind, because I didn't know her and yet she was so sweet for her kind gesture. Thank you so much Miss. Umbrella-ella!!! Sorry I didn't ask for your name.

Thank you concerned citizen!

To the blonde woman driving a white SUV crossover, heading North on Lauzon Pkwy at Forest Glade drive, thank you. I was the poor sap in the black Chysler 200 that was disabled going south bound towards EC Row. You called an ambulance because you saw me sobbing and unable to breathe. I apreciate your convern for a complete stranger :) My rear tire blew and I was having an absolute panic attack with my sister in the vehicle. We are both ok and the ambulance attendant made sure I was ok enough to drive. :) Thank you so much for showing empathy and restoring faith in humanity.

Fantastic, Wonderful, Awesome & Informative

Thanks to the Downtown Windsor Community Collaborative, Our West End, The Glengarry Initiative and Ford City for coming together and hosting this workshop, Windsor Votes! It was a fabulous first step in determining what it is going to take to get Windsorites to the polls. In light of the latest report about poverty in the West End, there was amazing compassion displayed for the less fortunate in our city. I'm going to do my part to get more people to the meeting in July.

Let's make it easy on these groups and promise to vote in October!! We can't let 37% of registered voters (most living west of Ouellette) decide what happens in Windsor.

My hope for the above group is they can get more participation from all parts of the city.

Job well done!

Love for the nurses

Recently I've had a family member in hospital and rehab. It's become very clear to me that the nurses are not just nurses. They encourage the patient with caring and kind words, they calm the family and help us find what info we need. They put in so much extra love and care into their work. And they feel more like they are an advocate for the patient and family even though they work in a system that gives them bare minimum as far as resources.

I can't believe that in 2018 Windsor hospitals are still using paper charts. We went from emerge to surgery to a room to rehab and we had to repeatedly ask the same questions and catch them all up on what's going on. A paper chart with 100 pages in it is NOT ACCEPTABLE. WHY DO WE NOT HAVE DIGITAL COMMUNICATION IN HOSPITALS TO SET OUR NURSES UP FOR SUCCESS?

I sincerely hope this is part of the plans. How do we expect doctors and nurses not to make any mistakes if they have to flip through a paper chart for each patient. I'm disgusted. Give these Angels some help!

To the bystander and the officer

Today I was involved in an accident on Walker Road. I was side swiped / rear-ended by another vehicle with my kids in the car. I was obviously shaken and angry at the time.
A man saw the accident, pulled over, took pics and made sure I was ok. He stayed to give a statement, and kept checking on us.
Never having dealt with this situation before, I was pretty flustered. The officer helping me through it was amazing. He talked about his spoiled cat after finding out that I work in a pet supply store.. just doing what he could to keep me calm.
Unfortunately, I didn't get either man's name.. but I do want to recognize the fact that today was made just a little easier due to both of them.
I would like you both to know how much your kind gestures meant to me today.
Thank you.

Free the baby goose

On Saturday June 16 2018 at 830pm my family went fishing under the ambassador bridge I noticed a baby goose was stuck in a fenced in cement pole in the river he couldn't climb or go under the fence too deep in the water. The auxiliary police told me he has been in there several hours and the humane society was unable to come till next day I started to panic I watched this little guy try so hard to remove himself. I told my daughter we have to get him out so my son and daughter went in the water bent the fence upwards to swim under they went to the other fence with my daughter inside the trapped area and my son on the other the baby was looking at them knowing they were gonna save him my daughter struggled to get him out but he was also scared, I kept telling her to hold onto the fence for some safety for herself my son was holding the other fence up which they ripped out from under the water. My daughter used a big piece of plastic as they lured it to the opening he fussed but they got him out people were clapping and saying thank you to my beautiful children, mind you they both stink like dirty nasty water but it was so worth it. I just want to say thank you to my children Robert Renaud and Shyanne Browning for being brave enough to go in the river also love you both very proud mother
