I wanted to share this story of my friends amazing little girl Kelly. This was all her idea. She came home from school and told her parents she wanted to do this and they made it happen.
What a special little girl....and what great parents!
Transition to Betterness (T2B)
Kelly Edgington who is only 4 years old and raised $1000 by doing a lemonade stand and family garage sale. Little Kelly decided she wanted to buy new toys for the kids in the T2B Paediatric Oncology Satellite Unit. management at Toys R Us gave Kelly a discount and she was able to purchase more toys for the kids oncology program.
If you go on the Transition to Betterness (T2B) page you can see pictures of her yard sales and lemonade stand, and also some of her shopping at toys r us.
Since when did E.C. Row get a decorator?
I would just like to send a shout out to the wonderful staff at Sir Cedric's University Ave. location. Thank you so much for helping me today after my trip and fall in front of your store while picking up my lunch order. Your kindness and attentiveness showed me that there is still some nice people in this world. I am a little bit cut, scraped and bruised and I guess won't be modeling my knees for awhile but I will be fine. Thank you again.
To all the men and women on construction sites throughout the city, working sun up to sun down, in the sweltering heat, often too exhausted to enjoy any amount of home life at the end of each day, I thank you for your hard work.
Thank you so much to the guy who stopped and got out of his car to pick up my daughters sippy cup. She dropped it while we where bike riding and well I turned to go back for it (debating how I was going to bend down and grab it with her on the back of the bike) a very generous man stopped and picked it up for me saving me from a toddler meltdown and I guess me falling over. It was something little and probably stupid to most but it made my day and I'm sure my daughters to. Little things like that do matter and it's nice to see people go out of their way to see a smile! Thank you!
My dad lives in the bridgeview area and this morning he left his garbage at the curb like he does every week and gave no thought about it, after taking him to run some errands we came home to find 1 pail had been left behind full. It turns out my dad thinks he's superman and the it was filled with water and was way to heavy to lift. So we pulled it to the back yard and rearranged it to fit in 2 pails just in time to see the garbage men come around the corner to do the other side. They were so nice, they waited for us to bring them back around and then emptied his pails for him (even though they were clearly still heavy) and told us how to fix it so no rain will accumulate anymore. They were full of smiles even though I could see the sweat just pouring off of them. They really don't get enough credit, just like the mailmen they have to brave all that mother nature throws at them for us. I just wanted to say thanks for being so nice and taking it anyways, pails are fixed and ready to go. :) You have been spotted!!!!!!!! Hope you enjoyed the cold water (:
I just wanted to thank 311 and the city traffic department in Windsor for their quick action. I called this morning at 8am to report that the stop sign on my street had been completely spray painted black, and I felt it was a safety issue. Well I'm happy to report that I'm home for lunch at noon and it's all cleaned up! Thanks again!
