Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
Yesterday I was in the drive-thru at Taco Bell on Tecumseh Rd. Mcdougall Ave. There was a Ford van in front of me at the Drive-thru window. We had booth seem an older man with a purse digging in the garbage can by the drive-thu. I think the man and the female passenger were shocked as I was the sight of the man digging in the garbage and eating a taco from the garbage as we waiting in the drive-thru. I was so happy to hear the man in the Ford van tell the Taco-Bell worker. Can you get this guy some food and handed the Taco Bell worker money to buy the homeless man a meal. The homeless man held his hand out wanting the money. The driver told the man to go inside to get some food he would pay for it. The older man refused to go into Taco Bell and walked across the parking lot and continued to search the next garbage can by Freshco for food. It was clear at that point this man had some sort of mental illness. But I just wanted to say Thank you to the man in the Ford van for his effort. I felt helpless and wanted to help too. The young man in the drive-thru at Taco Bell had told me they have all offered to give him food before he never would take it. Hat's off to the great people at Taco Bell. It's heart touching to see people step up to help someone in need. It really made my day to say how kind people are in Windsor.
Work at the new university building downtown came to a halt when the construction crane had a malfunction while moving a portopotty. Daring workers scaled the beam of the crane to reconnect the derailed piece.
Out in belle river on terra lou you gotta get down to see what these kind hearted children are hosting! There is about 4-5 kids and the oldest couldnt have been more than 10 who have made bracelets and tiny ornaments for others and are just looking for a donation of any amount to heart and stroke. They told me they thought of this all on their own and just want to help out. Absolutely touching and amazing. You go kids! And to their parents; good for you! This really made my day to see how happy they were just to know that they are trying to help others little by little and that cup is surely getting full! Good luck guys and thanks for the awesome dragonfly ;)
The guy in the black pickup on EC Row today at 5:30 is my hero. First he blocked the right lane so impatient & speeding/ dangerous drivers don't cut in line at the detour. Then, when a white car blared his horn at him, this guy gets out and puts the rude driver in his place. I wouldn't recommend getting out of your car on the expressway but I'm glad someone said something to one if these rude and inconsiderate drivers. I applaud you buddy.
After just losing my husband I was frantic to retrieve texts from his locked phone of conversations we had shared but I had already deleted from mine.
The two gentlemen at the bellstore on walker road were absolutely wonderful. They made many calls and research and were able to retrieve them by some miracle.
Being able to reread those texts means so much to me.
God bless you Akrem and Hasan, you truly are angels to me.
Seen This kind man buy a coffee for another man sitting outside starbucks the other day :) we need more people like this in the world....
Thank you to the man in the red car who bought my French Vanilla in the drive thru at the Tim Hortons on Tecumseh Road West near Huron Line at 5:40pm this evening! It was very much appreciated!!! :) It was a very long work day and it was the perfect ending to it! THANKS !!! I will pay it forward!
I recently posted my leather couch set on kijiji and I've been getting "offers" from people who are "out of town or country" asking to pay via PayPal, and it all just seems a little shady. I remember seeing a post on here recently about a kijiji/ PayPal scam. Just wondering if anyone has advice or stories?
