Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
Thank you to AM800 CKLW for sharing our yarn drive on air today and inviting us to be part of your Sunday morning show.
We use over 5 large garbage bags of yarn each month and are always in need.
Today our volunteer Carly and Noah are running our yarn drive booth at the Keep It Local Craft Show at the Teutonia Club in Windsor. Come visit us today till 5 pm and Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm.
All yarn and hat donations are appreciate. Because of this awesome community we live in, LeeLee Hats has donated 40,000 baby hats to babies at local hospitals.
Thank you!!!
Today 36 boxes of cereal and 23 jars of chocolate peanut butter were donated to the Welcome Centre for Women. They have a food bank at this location and with kids home for the summer these items are very needed. Because during the school year there are breakfast programs, cereal and kids snack foods are so important in the summer. Please do your part and pick up a couple things next time you are at the store and drop them off at your local food bank.
To the person who put a $50 bill in my mailbox Thursday afternoon, thankyou! What a nice surprise!
To the young man working the cash at Old Navy at Devonshire Mall: You made my day! Waiting in line with two screaming children, trying to decide if the $5 shirts I had were worth the hassle. I finally get to the counter and am rushing to pay, while trying to patiently convince my 3 year old to stop screaming because he's making his baby sister cry even louder. The young man looks at me with a big smile and says "You're a good mom"...I could have cried...I wish I could talk to his mother and find out what she did to raise a son like that!
Spotted this poor dog today at 12pm locked in a vehicle with all the windows done up.
My best friend is getting married in two weeks, and she got the bridesmaid dresses from His & Hers Bridal on Ottawa Street, and from the moment I walked in for my measurements, to today when I went for my fitting and to pay for the dress, the owner and other lady that works there bent over backwards to help out, very sweet ladies, great formal wear there, so if you are having a formal occasion, I highly recommend His & Hers, you won't be disappointed!
While waiting for my practice at Green Acres field in Tecumseh there was an 8 year old boy, Anthony, who asked to play with one of my balls. He was really enjoying it but wanted more people to play with. When two teenage guys accidentally kicked their ball over to him, they not only let him play with their ball but they eagerly joined in too. Seeing Anthony not only laugh and have fun but to see his mom even happier with her son's smiles is something that really made my day too. I really hope those boys know how much they positively affected someone's day.
I was at Freshco(Tecumseh and Rivard) and I was only buying a few things so I was carrying them in a basket. While in the check-out line, I saw something I forgot I needed to buy.(24 packs of water) I was going to attempt to carry 2 waters and 2 bags of groceries back to my car but this little grandma in front of me said for me to load my waters into her cart and she would push them to my car for me. I told her it was fine and I would carry them and she told me no and insisted I put my waters in her cart. So I did and she walked me to my car. Thank you for your help.
