Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
This guy at the mall last week came up to two strangers asking about their bucket list. He has a video and ended up taking them and paying for their skydiving experience! Too cool, way to make windsor a better place!
A gardener on the West End has reappropriated an old toilet and is using it to grow tomatoes!

Thank you very much to the gentleman that helps run Abars not only did he pay for my order but he paid for the order behind us too at Dad's today! Very generous! Cheers!
1. Last Monday, August 25, Bronwen at the City of Windsor Finance Office printed a document that I needed for Revenue Canada on the spot, despite the one-day-wait policy. I was distraught due to tight timelines & other pressures and she and 2 other staff went out of their way to make my visit to the City a very positive experience. Thank you :)
2. Also last Monday, August 25, the staff at Superstore on Dougall Ave. saved 2 scratch lottery tickets that my other half had purchased & left behind 2 dys prior. A staff member could have simply taken them and scratched them, but someone put them in the staff room with a note that a customer had forgotten them. How nice!
3. Today, Sunday, August 25, the clerk at Juniper Bookstore on Ottawa Street ran out of the store and abpprox. half a block to give me a paperback novel that I had left on the counter. Since I purchased 22 or 23 books, I would never had noticed it missing once I got home. Thank you!
Like many others, I often lament that customer service is often lacking. That said, I do give accolades when I am impressed with service that goes just a little bit extra far.
I know the bus drivers get a bad rap but honestly it is only a select few who are the problem like 2 or 3, the rest of you do a stand up job and are gracious individuals. Yesterday on the bus a bus driver seemed frustrated because of some people posting on here, I would like to saY to that driver you are awesome and anytime I get on the bus you are always nice. Thanks to the drivers who make my commute enjoyable.
To the couple who came to my daughters rescue when she was being attacked physically and emotionally at riverside Friday August 29th. My daughter is 17 and she has been having a rough week with the loss of her best friend out west who lost her battle with cancer. She is a sweet girl and very kind. When she was younger and in school people used to make fun of her for being overweight. It was a rough time for her growing up and she has a hard time trusting new people so her group of friends is very small. On Friday she was at the river listening to music when a couple a guys walked up to her and asked her if she was ok because she was crying. She said yes and explained to them why she was crying. They said they were sorry for her loss and just talked to her for a few more minutes before 2 girls came by and called out to their guy friends to come meet them. They said bye and walked away after giving her a hug. About 30 minutes after that happened these 2 girls walk up to her and started asking her if her boyfriend was hitting on her. She said no they just noticed her crying and asked if she was ok. These girls suddenly flipped out on my daughter and started to call her ugly and saying obviously they were joking, because her boyfriend would never be interested in her. She tried to just brush it off and continue listening to music. The other girl walked up close and pulled her ear phones out of her ear and continued to laugh at her and calling her names. She yelled out "I don't even know you and I don't care about you or your boyfriend issues just leave me alone." They continued to yell at her and call her even worse names. This wonderful mother and husband with a stroller ran up to her and these girls and started pulling the girls away from my daughter. The one girl started saying get your hands off me or I will call the police. The mother replied well now you know how this girl feels. She asked you to leave her alone what's so hard to understand about that? After 10 minutes of back and forth the girls finally left my daughter and that couple. They stayed with her and comforted her and asked her if she needed a ride or company as she walks home. She said no thank you and hugged them so tight. She got home and told me the whole story and I wish I can find out who this couple was. Please if you see this, email Jennifer.Olsen75@hotmail.com. To Spotted, can you please share this and ask people share it in hopes it will reach the right people. Possibly and this is a long shot, maybe the girls that came at my daughter will see this and see how inconsiderate and mean they actually were. Hopefully the insecure girl sits down and talks to her boyfriend and realizes how she blew this way out of proportion.
Signed a grateful mother
This evening I brought my 6 year old son to Pat & Hanks for dinner....we were having our usual, everyday chatter and enjoying our little "date". At the end of our meal, the waitress informed me that our dinner had already been paid for by the gentleman that was seated next to us. I don't know what compelled you to pay us such a kindness, sir, but you have been Spotted! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your generosity was much appreciated!
I work in the healthcare field and support people who experience significant boundaries in the community on a daily basis. I want to say thank you to those who have enough consideration to not walk in front of someone driving their wheelchair, hold open doors, or help move a chair or table in order for them to get someplace. When we say thank you, we truly do mean it.
