Windsor, Ontario, November 24, 2014– The WindsorEssex Community Foundation is pleased to announce that ten different organizations from the city and county will receive a total of $90,000 in grants for new projects in 2015. Funding for the grants comes from the annual earnings of the Community Foundation's unrestricted endowment funds. The ten organizations receiving funds will be recognized at a Grant Presentation on Monday, November 24th, from 5:00pm – 6:00pm at La Zingara Pizzeria Trattoria. Representatives from each of the ten organizations will be on hand to share details of their projects.
“Each organization is using their grant to add new components existing programs. This expands our community's capacity to care for our fellow citizens, building a better Windsor-Essex for today and tomorrow” states Marty Solcz, Chair of the Foundation Board.
Media are invited to attend the grants presentation and hear from grant recipients and Community Foundation Board Members about the impact these investments will have upon their organizations and communities.

I was at Staples this afternoon with a custom print job. Joseph provided top notch customer service. He was friendly, patient and prompt -- qualities often not found.
He went above and beyond to ensure I left with a perfect finished product.
Joseph, thank you. You've been spotted!
Thanks to the lady who paid for our coffee order today. It was a large order and quite unexpected. This was at the Tim Hortons on Tecumseh Road near Banwell. We will be sure to pay it forward. Thanks again for starting our day with a smile.

If you're in Belle River this afternoon, please stop to say Happy 16th Birthday to Ryan, he'll be pumping gas at UPI from 3-7 today (Sunday, November 23rd). All the regulars will know how courteous, polite, and quick he is at the pump!! Thx!!
This post is from a great guy who is always thinking of others. I just had to share because I thought it was a thoughtful, practical act we can all do. You've been spotted!
"I really want to start my own non-profit volunteer organization/ charity called "Shovels 4 Seniors" ...where if you are over 65 you can call a number up and the place sends someone to your house to shovel the sidewalks and stuff for you so you don't have to. It wouldn't cost the person anything either. They can tip if they feel the need to, but they are not required. If anything, they can donate towards the charity to cover gas prices and equipment. I would like to set it up like neighborhood watch style, where every neighborhood has a few reps, that are in charge of the area and can be sent right to them very quickly. Also it would be a great way for high school students to earn their community service hours and anyone who might have gotten in trouble with the law and needs to complete them as well. Also if you are collecting Welfare, you should be required to put in some hours too (Obviously those who are injured or mothers who collect for legitimate reasons wouldn't be). I think this would be a great idea. Who's down to help me figure this out?" -His name is Chum Lee on Facebook, if you'd like to message him with ideas.
just wanted to say thank you again to the person who stopped to help me when my car broke on the expressway tonight. out of the entire two hours my young daughter and I were stuck, you were the only one who stopped to see if I needed any help. so just wanted to say thank you one more time and sorry again for thinking you were CAA showing up with my tow truck :) lol!
A Wonder neighbour on Arthur RD @ 8:15 a.m. saw an ambulance across the street from his house came out to salt the side walks and the drive way so they could take the neighbour safely out of the house.
