Our neighbour in the 1200 block of Askin has been clearing the sidewalks of at least 10 houses since it began snowing this year. We don't know each other but I want him to know I am truly grateful for his help.

I'd just like to send out a thank you to the nice man who works at F& J Collision who I got my daughters skates from near Christmas. He had the skates posted for $15 on kijiji and when I went to pay for them he said no need. I offered to pay again and he said merry Christmas. How nice is it to see such Christmas spirit in Windsor. I have lived in this city for a few years now. And this restored my faith in the people of this city. How nice of him to do that. P.s. my daughter LOVES them. Thank you again

I was walking with my daughter who is wheelchair bound and my son at Tecumseh and Balfour. A snow angel on a 4wheeler with a front plow attachment asked how far I was going. I said to the second set of lights. He smiled and then he went on to plow it For us.

Today I saw one of my neighbor's putting everyone's garbage cans into their backyard ( I live on pierre Ave and we have to put out our garbage cans in the allyway) I just thought how sweet it's minis 14 outside and he's helping everyone by putting their garbage cans over the fence so we don't have to go do it.

I went this morning to renew my license. I gotten there early and was the 2 nd person waiting in the lot in my car. By 845 the lot was packed. By 8:50 everyone lined up at the door but I had my baby with me so I didn't stand outside in the cold. Everyone piled in the door when it opened and I was sure id be there a while but this really sweet woman who noticed me there before everyone else with my baby gave me her number and took mine.

I know I said thank you there but people like you are rare.

I was wondering if anyone else spotted the flock of white herons/ cranes flying from the river earlier in the day? If so, maybe better recognize what they were? They didn't look like any I've seen around here. It was a beautiful sight to see!

I worked late tonight, so all the way home all I thought about was all the snow I'd have to clear from my driveway. Although it didn't snow that much, I get a lot of drifting snow that piles up. I got home to find my driveway already cleaned. I've asked friends, family & neighbours if they were responsible so I could thank them, but no one claims they did it.

So to the Good Samaritan that cleaned my driveway today and made my day end on a happy note, THANK YOU so very much. Your kindness was very much appreciated.

People are always texting, phoning and driving , going through red lights .
I saw a woman getting out of her car at a coffee shop off the Expressway recently and asked her if she was alright ( she looked teary and really upset) . She said she was driving , like she always does and talking on her cellphone , like she always does , checking her texting , like she always does. She was driving down the expressway and at the exit - the light had been red- a woman got out of her car and went to her . She told her that she saw her talking on her phone and checking her phone ( for texts) . She said she wanted to tell her off and tell her it was none of her business. She passes police all the time and never gets stopped. The other lady started crying and said because of people like her who cannot leave their phones alone while driving , her fiancee was killed the night before their Wedding- a guy went through the Red light and he was on the phone. The following day when there was a whole church full of people waiting for them , she was picking out a casket for her fiancee. She said she was going to stop driving altogether for a while cause it kills her EVERY time she sees a driver on the phone because to her, it means they have no regard for anyone but themselves and NO REGARD for HUMAN LIFE.
It seems that no matter how much is said about phones, texting and going through Red lights , reading in the paper that a young person died in an accident , or whole families getting killed, it just isn't stopping. I keep my cell phone in the trunk when I'm driving- if someone calls , I can check it when I'm not driving .
How high do the fines have to be ? How stiff do the penalties have to be?
Could you only imagine the revenue that would be mounting if more people were ticketed . Raising taxes would NEVER be an issue. Just ticketing people who think they are above the law and "high 5'ing " cause they keep getting away with it.
and if the lady on the expressway reads this - I'm so sorry for you loss.
