Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
I was having an odd and crappy day at work last night. To top it off a guy left behind $100 at the self scan station, when he realized it and came back it was gone. I felt so bad for him, he looked like he was gonna cry. He hung around for a little bit, looked like he didn't know what to do. I had him leave his name and number just in case. Well a couple hours later, a lady came up to the desk and said she got cash back and didn't realize till she got home that she got way too much. She must have been the next person and got her money with the money that was still there. She came back to the store to turn it in...it was that mans $100. I thought it was so nice of her to be honest and turn it in. She said she believed in karma and wanted to do the right thing. I offered her a $25 gift card, but she declined. The manager came over and offered he flowers too, but she declined and got teary-eyed. I called the man back and he could not believe it. He asked if she was still there or left her name/ number because he also wanted to repay her. You my dear changed my mood for the rest of the night. Wish there were more honest people like that in the world.
My heart literally dropped when I woke up to a text message. A text that said one of my favourite high school teachers, Mr. Baxter had passed. He was one of those teachers you could always talk to, go to for advice and know that he didn't judge you. He was laid back but still knew how to be a teacher. I want to send my condolences to his family, you should know how great of a person he was, how he touched many students hearts, how he helped us the best he could. He is one that will not be replaced.
While at Billie's Place on St. Patrick's Day, my friend and I were sitting at a booth getting ready to leave, when I spotted my cousin at the bar. I told my friend I was just going to say "hi" to him, but I ended up talking to him longer than I had anticipated. I didn't know my friend had gone out front because she wasn't feeling well (not realizing that my purse was sitting on the chair).
When I got back to the booth, finding my purse but not my friend, I felt sick. I was sure my wallet was probably gone, or my money or i.d.
But, my wallet was still there with everything totally intact.
Thank you to the honest group of people at Billie's (you know who you are!) You rock!!!
To the lady that works at Wendy's on Ouellette and Ellis, your positive energy rubbed off on me. I was having such a bad day but after having lunch with my Mom & seeing how friendly and interactive you were with your customers made my day. You informed us that, that Wendy's location will be closing 2 days before your birthday. I just wanna say, Happy Birthday in case I don't see you, & thank you for enjoying your job, and making everyone feel so welcomed. It's people like you that make dining experiences so wonderful :)
Lots of good people out there in the world! Last night we went to Applebees on Huron LIne with our 3 girls after spending the day at the Detroit Zoo. There was a woman at the bar who took an interest in our table, and she had some odd advice about parenting, but we accepted it and went about eating our meal. When it came time to pay the bill, the bartender told us that our bill had been taken care of by someone who wanted to remain anonymous! And that they wanted us to know how nice it was to see a family out having dinner! She was still sitting at the bar trying not to be noticed, so I didn't notice her as they said she wanted to remain anonymous! We just wanted to say that our Family really appreciated it! Thank-you.
I want give a shout out to the awesome truck driver, who stopped far enough back on Huron line today, yelled out the window for me to switch lanes so that I wasn't stuck behind all the trucks at a red light!! Well done man, well done! Hats off to you, you have been spotted!
I wanted to share a great thing that I know people with dogs (and precious spare time) will appreciate. Are you dreading the snow melting because of all the dog doodoo you have to clean up in your backyard? I was too!!! Then I found someone who charges a reasonable fee to do it for you.
Courtney from P& S removal, you've been spotted!!!! Thank you for your hard work and speedy service. It was greatly appreciated!
Last night we witnessed a fall down the stairs outside The Kildare House. It was really frightening to witness, but so many people assisted, including a nurse until paramedics arrived. I am wondering if anybody out there knows this woman, and if she is ok.... We are all hoping she is alright.
Thank you!
