Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
I just to say thank you to all the staff at lauzon animal clinic. My daughters cat was sick and they were so kind and caring to her cat and very wonderful to my daughter. You have been spotted for being so wonderful to our family :) thanks so much :)
yesterday I was in an accident at Kildare and Ottawa St at 7:15 am. Before the first responders arrived on the scene I was calmed and told to stay still and that the ambulance was on the way by a witness/ bystander and as is often the case, I did not get his name. If anyone sees this and knows who this guy is...please pass on my thanks. I am deeply grateful for his presence. I know he was on his way to work because he called in to let them know why he was going to be late getting in. I also was pleased and grateful to the first responders - they arrived very quickly and got me taken care of professionally, efficiently and with great care. Luckily injuries are minor but the cars are a write off. Sad to say our last payment was made on the vehicle this month.
So I just had to tell you about my day yesterday. Hubby and I made our way to Lowe's to purchase a new lawnmower. It was a great trip, in and out, very quick. In the parking lot, I said to hubby "oh, can you lift this?" - He had recently had a slip and fall and hurt his back. A man, walking with his son, comes over, and picks it up, and puts it in the back of our car! Thank you Sir! Thank you very much!!! I love the city I live in, and the people in it!
To Kelly who found some of the contents of my mums wallet and brought them to her house. THANKYOU!!! You have been spotted for your honesty!!!
To the person/ persons who found the wallet first, took the money, credit cards, gifts cards and the actual wallet and tossed the rest in the park. I hope you feel good about your dishonesty!!!
I am on maternity leave and am frequently out for walks with my baby in the busy times near Massey High School. I often pass by the bus stop, where many of the students gather during their lunch break or after school. I just wanted to acknowledge the politeness of many of the students as I walk by. I am often greeted with a smile, and the sidewalk is cleared for me to pass without hesitation. Today, a young man apologized as he moved away and waved his cigarette smoke out of my path. What a great group of young men and women.
This is late but I had to post. Last week I was traveling with my almost 2 year old daughter. While waiting to board the plane my daughter noticed her empty sippy cup in my carry on, since you cant bring liquids through security. Well she wasnt happy, she started screaming and crying. A nice couple beside me was joking with me so I wouldnt feel bad.. and I was explaining to them that she was crying because she wanted juice but I forgot to bring change. And a wonderful stranger over heard me and offered me some change to go get her some juice. I just want to thank him from the bottom of my heart, really made my day, as well as my daughters :) thank you kind stranger !!
I went to the river for a walk on Sunday evening to clear my mind after a bad weekend of events. Once I was done my walk, I decided to sit on a bench and enjoy the view. Inevitably, I started crying, almost uncontrollably, for a really long time until I was interrupted by a kind, gentleman. I asked this man to leave me alone and go away multiple times but he kindly refused and told me that I could talk to him. As much as I tried to turn him away, he persisted. When I didn't tell him what was wrong, he asked why I wouldn't talk to him and I said that I couldn't share details of my life with a stranger so he began to talk about his life until eventually he was able to figure out a general idea of why I was upset. After quite some time chatting, he had me laughing and I am so grateful that he took time out of his day to make me smile. Thank you, stranger! ;-)
A big thank you to Brian from the City of Windsor Parks Department who went out of his way today to help me look for a set of lost keys at the Optimist Dog Park in S. Walkerville. Unfortunately the keys were never recovered . Brian not only helped me look for the keys in the park but unlocked a garbage can to reassure me that I didn't toss them in there ,
