Above & Beyond at East End WalMart Photo

Late last night, we discovered that a family photo we were planning to give as a graduation gift today had been misplaced. We finally gave up looking and headed to the east end WalMart to buy a card.

Even though it was 9:30 pm, we stopped by the Photo Centre and asked the lady if there was any way we could get an enlargement picture re-printed ASAP. Unfortunately, we didn't have the picture file on our phone; it was in a WalMart on-line account. She said the on-line file orders usually took a while to come through now that WalMart had gone to the 24-hour photo system, and it might be too late to get another copy that night before they closed.

We decided to try placing an on-line order anyway, and she offered to keep the machine turned on for a few extra minutes, just in case the order arrived. Thankfully, within 10 minutes she received our order and printed out the photo, even though she was technically closed for the night.

We didn't get her name, but she saved the day! Thanks for the gracious service...she seemed almost as happy as we were that it all worked out!

Purse retrieved

I just want to say thank you to the person who handed in my purse to the check out lady at the Dollarama on Amy Croft Drive. I had my bag in one hand and my little grandson in the other, not realizing I didn't have my purse. I got to the car and put my grandson in his seat and then realized I didn't have my purse. Thank you so so much from handing it in. May God bless you. :)

Kudos to Lowe's Home Improvement Store

Just wanted to give a special shout out to the young lady at Lowe's on Walker Road. Her name is Lith. I had been looking for some type of clasp to secure my grandson's soccer net more securely. She showed me a number of things that could have possibly worked and then had a brilliant idea which she helped me with! If you are reading this Lith---thank you from the bottom of my heart...and btw---IT WORKED BEAUTIFULLY!

Never too late for a thank you

On St Patrick's Day, I was informed my parents were in a car accident. Thankfully they were ok, but the car was totalled. A young lady had ran a red light at Lauzon and Wyandotte, and hit my parents so hard that car spun in almost a complete circle and were inches away from hitting the Riverside Tavern. She lied to the police and said it was my parents who had ran the red light, but luckily someone happened to have a dashboard camera opposite of my parents, and had the whole thing on film. THANK YOU TO WHOEVER FILMED THE ACCIDENT AND SENT IT TO THE WINDSOR POLICE. It saved my parents a lot of money and stress. Many people don't want to get involved, but I am SO HAPPY you did!!

Doggie Doo Doo

To the crossing guard on Laurier and Mayfair in LaSalle I want to say BRAVO. Your decision to not allow the woman with the two dogs to keep allowing her two dogs to go on the side walks that children and seniors walk daily. It was priceless to see the woman's face drop when you took her picture and told her you were reporting her to the police cause you were tired of seeing this everyday. Thank you for taking care of the school children and also for caring for our neighbourhood!!!

Man pulled from the river at 7:30 near McKay and Riverside.

Update: Windsor police with the aide of a couple passing by on a jet ski, rescued a middle aged man from the Detroit River after the man entered the water near the foot of McKay and Riverside.

Ambulance attendants arrived and transported the man to hospital. He was conscious while being wheeled to the awaiting ambulance.

Way to go #windsorpolice and #goodsamaritans.
