Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
My mother in law has had an extremely rough year, losing her parents in back to back months last year and losing her brother this week, We were in Windsor making funeral arrangements today, when I begged her to stop and try to eat. She agreed, wanting to go to "The Leaf" as it is the old High-ho, where she worked as a teen.
The waitress we encountered there was beyond warming and wonderful, with not even knowing how our day/ week had been. I didn't catch her name, but if she sees this I know she will remember us!
You put a smile on my mother in laws face!! And for that, I owe you!!
The food was delicious, and in the end, we left Windsor with our spirits a little higher than when we had came.
Waitress from "the leaf" you have been spotted. Karma will embrace you!!!
The other day, I was at Remark farms racing to go to a dinner where I was supposed to bring some stuff - I had a container of cut watermelon in my hands along with other things and when I got to the cashier, I dropped the watermelon and it spilled all over the floor. A young man, in the next lineup with 2 of his friends (I estimate he was about 15) looked at me, smiled and immediately left the line. I thought he was going to get someone to clean it up - but he returned to the line with a new container of cut watermelon for me just in time for me to put it on the belt and pay for my items. AND got a staff member to come and help clean up the mess. Not often someone goes out of their way for you! I was especially touched because it was a teen out with friends and he did it without being asked or told, and without waiting for thanks. So THANK YOU - you made my day!!!!
To the girl whose car stalled on howard and edinburough,im glad you got home safe. It's too bad you suffered a little verbal abuse from some of those impatient drivers. Your situation could have been worse because of the few that weren't even paying attention. I'm glad I coukd help and thst you are safe.
To the "grown man" who swore at me on Howard avenue when my car stalled, you need to give your head a shake and follow the example of the GENTLEMAN who helped me out. I was panicked because I could not restart my car and a nice man pulled around the corner and came back to me to help me out. A nice woman also stopped to help me. Most of the people driving seemed to understand what was happening, and when you so rudely yelled at me, I had my hazard lights on, but noticed that none of my lights were staying on for any length of time. Were you startled when you looked up from whatever was distracting you to see my car was stopped?? There's no reason to be so awfully rude to another human being, did you really think I was stopped in the middle of the road for funsies? The gentleman who helped me knew how to push start my car, I drive a stick shift and he did manage to get it started for me! I wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Our community needs more people like you, and the woman who stopped to help as well. I wish I could've said thank you in person but I didn't want to stop my car again. I was able to get it home thanks to you. To the nice guy and the real "f-- idiot" you've been spotted.
Last night at the Macs on Jefferson I fainted at the front counter. I have no idea why I fainted (it has happened before, but very infrequently), but everyone around rushed to help. The paramedics were called and a group of wonderful people stayed with me until they arrived. I wanted to thank everyone who helped me yesterday evening (bystanders and paramedics). I am fine and well now and am sorry for anyone who I scared. Thank you again!
Id like to thank one of the Nurses in Emergency at Met Hospital. A few weeks ago my son had a incident in the pool and needed to be rushed in, the nurse was amazing and so caring! Today my son fell and a few teeth came out, he was bleeding bad. The same Nurse was there today, seen us and took us back immediately. She knew our summer has been a bit stressful and didnt want us to wait. Big thank you for caring so much about my little boy! I wish I would of got your name but both times I was a bit freaked out. You deserve Nurse of the year award!! Thank you again for making our trips a little easier and remembering us! You have been spotted!
My husband and I were driving down Hall near giles and found a grey bag with someones baseball gear in it, in the middle of the road. It definitely isnt something someone would of thrown away. If you or someone you know lost this bag send me a message. I would like to return these belongings to you. But just so I know its yours, tell me the name on the bag and some of the belongings in it besides the obvious of baseball equipment.
