Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
Today I was in a very long funeral procession, and as we made our way from the church to the cemetery we passed many cars who pulled over to the side of the road. And of course we also passed many vehicles that were to busy or just didn't bother to show a small bit of respect and wait the 2 min while we passed.
I want to take the time to mention a city bus driver who stopped on Cabana rd and blocked traffic for those few moments. Mr Dougall 6 you have been spotted by me and I just want to say thank you for that. Many vehicles had passed us by but you kind person took the time out to be respectful. I'm truly grateful.
I just want everyone and Eddy himself to know that Eddy's Mediterranean bistro has the best service I have ever experienced in Windsor and amazing food to top it off! Today we ordered take out from there and when we got home they forgot a shawarma. When I called to see if they charged us for it she said no so I said np! 5 minutes later Eddy calls to say that he will be delivering the shawarma free of charge! Wtg Eddy and staff you are definitely our choice for Mediterranean food! Thk you:) can't forget the free dessert they gave us. So generous.
This past Saturday, I had heard about this fund raiser out at Co An park in McGregor and decided to bring my 6year old Daughter and her friend to see whats going on. We parked the car and proceeded into the event. On our way in we had to pass a couple Fire Trucks from the Essex Fire Dept. To my surprise my daughter and her friend wanted to see the trucks so they stopped and started looking at them. Almost right away two Firefighters greeted us and began to talk to the girls and show them the trucks and gear. I was very impressed with the professionalism and courtesy that these two handsome young men not only showed me but the girls as well. Its very nice to see young guys with a sense of pride and community. Essex is lucky to have them. To both of you young men (short dark hair and longer brown hair) keep up the great job and you have been spotted.
I was at the East End Was Mart yesterday around 5:00. My enhanced drivers license must have fallen out of my pocket while shopping.
I want to thank whomever returned it to the customer service desk. You saved me a huge hassle and restored my faith in people again. Thank you so much
I saw the cutest girl of my life dancing to end of Free Bird at the intersection of E.C. Row and Manning yesterday. She either didn't know how hard she was rocking out or she did not care, but her soul was shining. Made my heart skip a beat. You've been spotted silver kia, you made my day!
On Saturday night while driving cab for Gerrys Taxi someone stole my bag containing my license, passport, taxi license and miscellaneous items. On Sunday morning I received a phone that my bag had been turned in at Macdonalds on Drouillard Rd. It seems a young boy had found my bag a turned it. Unfortunately Macdonalds employees did not get his name or information. I'd love to find this boy and thank him and give him a much deserved reward.
This past Friday, I was feeling down after hearing of some bad news so my wonderful boyfriend took me to Moxie's for a late lunch to help me feel better. We decided to sit outside on the patio, but shorty after sitting down, we noticed that there were a lot of yellow jackets flying around pestering us. At one point we even used out menus as bee swatters to keep them away, but to no avail. While we were eating, I ended up getting stung on my arm, ouch! Our waitress (whose name I unfortunately forget) came out and was very sympathetic, brought me a bag of ice to help with the pain and swelling, and even offered me a free dessert on the house! I just wanted to say a big thanks to her beause even though my spirits were down that day and then getting stung by a bee, her genuine care and concern really warmed my heart.
This evening, myself, my husband and our 7 year old daughter were bike riding around forest glade. Our daughter was distracted by some kids playing, and while looking over at them, she ran straight into the back of a van parked on the street. The owner of the van came running over right away- with a bag of ice. She started checking out my daughter's wrist to make sure she was okay and then started joking with my daughter. I informed her of the scuff on her bumper, to which she didn't even reply right away because she was only concerned about my daughter. Eventually, she looked at her bumper and told us not to worry about it, and that she was just glad my daughter was okay. Thank you for your big heart, and helping to make my daughter feel better.
