Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
I'd like to thank the Good Samaritan who found my fur baby on Langlois on Sunday after he was struck by a car. He is a small, grey, short haired cat. He had run out of the house when I came home from my brother's wedding Saturday night. You contacted the Humane Society. Because he is microchipped we were contacted immediately and able to begin treating him. While he has a fractured pelvis, he is doing as well as he could be. He is expected to recover. However, extra prayers don't hurt.
Thank you so much for helping my kitty. Thank you to the wonderful doctors and staff at the Humane Society and Walker Road Animal Clinic. Please microchip your pets - even if they are indoor as there is always the chance they may escape. It is because our cat was microchipped that we were contacted immediately and able to begin treating him.
To my neighbour Lisa. After hearing the story on the news that the Salvation Army was low on food, Lisa took it upon herself to gather the neighbourhood children and go house to house for 2 days to gather food for the Shelter. Not only has she taught the neighbourhood children a valuable and loving gesture but she has loaded a truck full of food for the Shelter. A beautiful person who could teach a lot of people the meaning of giving from the heart.
Spotted: Monday around 4:30pm my 4 year old daughter and I took our first walk on the pedestrian bridge over the expressway. We sat while my daughter waved at all the cars and trucks. A HUGE thank you to everyone who waved or honked at her (especially the Police officer - she was happy you seen her). The smiles and giggles that were coming from her as people were waving and honking was an awesome feeling as a mom - pure happiness and not a care in the world in that moment. This small gesture so many did today made her day, 2 hours later she's still talking about it! Windsor residents are the best! THANK YOU!
I just wanted to point out 4 very nice firemen that went way over there job today! I was walking with my 2 year old son down by the river front on our way back there was a fire truck and 4 fire men. My son loves any type of truck so while they were, what we thought driving away he waved and they all stuck there hands out and waved and smiled back. They then turned around and came back to where we were standing and stopped got out and asked if my son would like to go in the fire truck! Of course he was all for it. He got to sit in the front seat, where the fire men asked his name and if he liked it they even put the sirens on for him! He loved every minute! They then took pictures of me and my son in the driver seat! As things were winding down he says I don't wanna get out :) these 4 firemen did something extra that day and my son has not stopped talking about it. He's two and says when he gets big he will drive the fire truck! Thank you so much all of you! You definitely put a smile on both our faces! Keep it up
To the gentleman in the Tim Hortons near banwell tonight, You were spotted cleaning up after some teenage boys when they left their mess on about 3 or 4 tables ! I just want to acknowledge what a great sight that was to see ! You didn't have to do that, and it was nice to see such a nice gesture !
Last Thursday my husband of 45 years passed away. I arranged a small wake at his favorite restaurant. Piccollo's. The staff there, especially Shelley and Cindy
Who went above and beyond to make this a pleasant and memorable experience, going as far as including my husband's favorite meal and fresh baked cookies. Thank you for making this day a little less sad and for your kind words about my husband.
Was shopping at Food Basic at Tecumseh and Lauzon. Could here a voice saying "What else do you need to find". I glanced over see one of the workers helping a blind man with his 3 young children getting his groceries . She, Temara then said" Let me lead you with your cart". She putted from the front as he held on to the cart. This took some time as he had no clue where anything was. Just like to say you a good person Tamara . Food Basic is lucky to have you and so was the family that day. Your a good person Tamara
My family and I coming back from one of my sons hockey games, driving down riverside drive, and we see 1 elderly woman sitting on the grass/ sidewalk area, another elderly woman standing by her side and another woman in her 30's standing beside her. There was a walker flipped and we stopped to see if any help was needed. (Looked like one fell) all was good, they didn't need assistance, but before we got there, somebody else stopped to assist and as we were there, 2 others came, as we were leaving more kept stopping to see if any help was needed. Proof right there to some people that think Windsor is scum and full of dirtbags...would dirt bags stop? No! There is ALOT of great outstanding respectful people always willing to help those who need it or at look like they need it! Is your Faith restored in Windsorites? Mine is, but I never lost it, there will always be good people In the world, sometimes ur looking in the wrong direction
