Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
We were shopping at the Superstore on Dougall Ave last night when I realized (for the second time now) that the store was full of student aged shoppers and in groups. Jokingly I said to my partner this must be student night. When we were checking out I asked the cashier jokingly "Is this student night?" to which he replied, Yes. Every Tuesday they have a bus go to the University of Windsor to pick up resident students for shopping. The bus ride is free and students get a 10% discount off of their total. I thought, wow, that's a great idea. Win, win... students are catered to (bus and discount) and the store is ringing in shoppers. Kudos to the Real Canadian Superstore on Dougall Ave.
The Royal Canadian Air Cadet 364 Lancaster Squadron would like to say "Thank You!" to the community for their very generous donations during our fall tag day weekend fundraising initiative that took place on October 22, 23, & 24. Your generosity is very much appreciated by the cadets, staff and the Squadron Sponsoring Committee!

To the cute blond girl probably in early 20s that I saw at the good life at Tecumseh mall and then driving around in a black Cruze jamming to 3rd eye blind: I really admire how you held the door open for numerous people (with only 1 saying thank you), smiled and said hi to me when you saw I was looking at you then helped that Asian woman carry all her bags to her car. I’m married with kids (and your too young for me anyways) so I'm not trying to be like that, but I just wanted to say your inner and outer beauty was not ignored today. Keep spreading the love and that gorgeous smile
Tonight my son saw a blind man walking back and forth near Jefferson and Rose around 4:30. He appeared to be lost , so my son approached the man to see if he was lost and needed help. The man was a little confused as to whether or not he was heading in the right direction. He told my son his family just moved here from Alberta not long ago and he was from Alberta and came down to visit his family. He was looking for a certain street. So my son knew where it was and walked the man to the street he was looking for. My son asked if he wanted him to walk him to the house and he politely declined and said he new where he had to go from there. So proud of my son!!
I just want to give a shout out to the Windsor police officers in the poo olive van tonight on the west end that we're driving around giving out candy, talking to the kids and letting them hear your sirens it is good to know that they care enough to be out in the community!!!!! Sincerely one happy mommy!
Tonight on the 8:30 1C going east bound 5 teenagers werr sitting at the front of the bus. Talking away and what seemed to not care about those around them; by their conversation with each other.....
Any ways the one young man, dressed as a "blue man" (he got off at the 7/ 11 by Ford & Tecumseh) noticed that a mom with a stroller about to get on the bus. He made note of it and all 5 of the teenagers got up and moved to the back of the bus so she could use spot!
Good for you, you've been spotted.
Tecumseh OPP you are spotted for being awesome! While on patrol tonight they were stopping to talk to the kids and handing out candy. Thanks for keeping everyone safe and having fun with the kids
To the amazing staff at costco today, thank you for everything. First of all, my 4 year old who is developmentally delayed and was sitting in the cart, threw up all over the floor. My husband ran to find someone, the sweet older lady that came saw that I was on the verge of tears and told me not to worry about it as I am apologizing for the mess. She touched my arm and said "it's okay, we will clean it up." She then made sure my son was cleaned up and asked if he needed water or anything. Later, after we checked out I had to check my blood sugar (I have Gestational Diabetes) there was no where to sit in the little food court because it was so busy. I sat down where they have the table set up to fill out the credit cards. An employee saw me sitting down and immediately came over to ask if I was okay, if I needed anything to eat or drink. It was such a nice experience. Thank you to both of you ladies for making my shopping trip so wonderful!
Sincerely,
The largely pregnant woman with the sick boy & lt;3
