Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
I need to take a moment to show the city my appreciation, for some of the most caring group of women to bless this earth with their existence. I have a group of friends who I consider family, this group includes, my father and mother as well. I have been going through a hard time struggling with infertility. This will be my second time trying to conceive through ivf. My emotions are everywhere, I sometimes feel alone, or like giving up on trying for a family. These more then amazing group of girls have honestly been my ROCK through it all, and they should know how amazing they all are. So here it goes.... Thank you.
Thank you to mom for letting me cry for no reason and always being a person of reason to help keep me safe and focused.
Thank you stephon for being a gental should and dealing with these ups and downs like a man and being so compassionate.
Thank you dad for knowing that even though your not a woman and sometimes understanding me is difficult, you are always supportive, you go the extra mile, it keeps me feeling like I am loved.
Thank you jess for literally going that extra mile, bathing and clothing me after surgery , for loving me holding me and making me feel at home.
Thank you Nikki for doing the small things , for showing me that its ok to be me, that you love me no matter what.
Thank you Paige for always being my sunshine, for bringing youth back into my soul, and letting me be just me.
Your all amazing and you should all know that !
I am lucky to have amazing ppl like this in my life, I needed to tell the world!
Tonight I noticed our city workers (garbage/ recycle/ yard waste ) , I apologize for not knowing the proper title, these men that I came across this evening were working so hard. I have never noticed before just how hard these men and women work to keep our city clean. It was very late today that these hard working men came to pick up yard waste. On my way home this evening I noticed a truck , my friend was driving, we couldn't get by, as we came to a halt I got to witness the amount of physical labor these city workers go through to get rid of our yard waste, we left to go down another street. On the way I realized how much yard waste each home had, I then came to the assumption they were working over time to clean all the waste up. The next street we turned down had two city trucks, 4 hard working men helping each other get this job done. I don't know if you will see this, or remember, but I rolled down my window and as we drove by I told you , your doing a great JOB! Which you thanked me kindly. I want to give some thanks to all city workers who work VERY hard to keep our city clean. Shout out to overtime, even with the repetitive action of picking up bags or garbage pails to dump our waste, you still smiled when I commented on your good work. Now that's amazing "customer service ' !! Lol
It was about a week ago, I was leaving food basic downtown by the beer store. It was one of our cold rainy days. I want to let the kind man, that lent a helping hand know how amazing he is. I don't know your name, but I sure do appreciate your kindness. I was with a friend, she was driving. We were pulling out, as we reached the exit near the beer store, traffic backed up due to an elderly man pulling a LOT of shopping carts. They were all tied together and he was struggling to pull them up the exit ramp to the parking lot. While I believe one person went around the stopped car in front of you we waited. I wanted to help , I just had surgery and couldn't physically do it, it was sad to watch him struggle. You jumped out of the passenger side, and pulled that huge line of shopping carts up for him, I could see the relief on his face when you did this. I was moved. Thank you for taking the time to help. Your truly a wonderful caring and thoughtful person for doing this. I hope you come across this and take a moment to reflect on your kind actions , feel good about what you did. You're one in a million that would actually do this. Many , like me, have thought about it, but putting kind thoughts into action is a whole new level of kindness. In case you haven't been told lately, you are appreciated, you are thoughtful , kind, compassionate and giving. Have an amazing day and may your kind actions be noticed, appreciated and maybe one day paid back.
We took my 3yr old daughter & 6mth old son to see Santa today at Devonshire mall (Nov 17th) just after 10am. There was only one person ahead of us. My daughter was super excited to see Santa, right up until we got in line. She then didn't want to go up, was being shy, arms folded... the awesome elf Cookie was so patient with her, talking to her, trying hard to make her feel comfortable. She went on to say she remembered her from last year, how big she's grown, etc. The people ahead of us left, my daughter still didn't want to go in. We finally convinced her to sit beside my husband with Santa on the other side, husband holding our son too. After getting those pictures, she felt comfortable enough to sit by herself for her own. Then did one more set with Santa holding our son! Went above & beyond! The other 2 elves working were amazing as well. We have seen the same Santa all 3 years we've been going so far & he has been great each time!! She was nervous last year as well & he spent time to talk to her, give her a high five & let her hold his reindeer for the pictures too. I just want to thank you for taking a semi-stressful situation & making it to be an amazing experience!!!
(The Santa is the one with a bit of grey in his beard. Wonderful man!) #DevonshireMall #SpottedinWindsor
To the person who paid for my order at the Tim Hortons on Tecumseh road next to Red Lobster at about 5:20pm today, thank you. I was having a bad day and your act of kindness put a smile on my face.
So having worked in customer service for about 15 years (Gosh I can't believe I said that out loud !!!lol) I like to mention when I see exemplary service...
For the last 8 weeks I frequent a Mc Donald's on Wyandotte and Pillette....
Here...I always get great service. The staff is friendly. Store is clean and bathrooms are clean.
Behind the counter is a gentleman named Brian. I don't know him. I'm not sure if he's a supervisor, an assistant manager or a manager.
But every week I see him, working hard and I hear staff asking him questions and while doing whatever tasks he is in control of he always stops and happily helps his staff!!!
I sense a great atmosphere of Team Work and Enjoy that this is a consistent thing I see and know I will come to every Monday night while my daughter is in Girl Guides.
Fantastic Service and Excellent Example for the Community!
