Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
Tonight a family came to my house with a wagon full of stockings asking if I had any children and I said yes two...they said they were doing a Christmas giveaway...they gave my kids each a stocking full of gifts...then asked if there were other kids in the neighborhood so I let them know which houses to go to...What a wonderful gesture...thank you again and Merry Christmas from my family to yours.
Denise and Kandis, who work at the Hallmark store at Devoshire Mall need to be recognized for absolutely exemplary customer service. We were in there today when a very nice but challenging customer came in. This woman could have completely disrupted the store with her at time confusing demands, but the service Denise and Kandis provided her was amazing, while at the same time keeping all of their other customers happy. It would have been so easy for them to become frustrated or annoyed with this lady, but their kindness and patience needs to be recognized.
Dear Friends,
Asking for the possibility for you to give back this Holiday Season. A family very close to our hearts, and who have only been in this country for 10 months(from Colombia) have suffered a fire in their apartment building after one of their Christmas candles caught the tree on fire. Along with damage to their own belongings, today they were hit with an invoice for $1652.00 due immediately for damages to the dwelling. We have contacted Legal Aid to help the family, but they are closed for the holidays and the Management Company is threatening eviction if the balance is not paid due to the fact that they have sold their property. My husband and I have helped with the renovations and will be helping with Christmas gifts as well, we are just trying to give this family a good first Christmas in Canada. If you are willing to donate a gift, or even a Christmas card with well wishes, I know they would appreciate it so very much! The family consists of a father, mother, son (15 years of age) and daughter (12 years of age). The parents do not speak English, but the two children are learning!
Please let me know if you are interested in helping out. You can email me at marisa@jgdrywallandpainting.com
Thanks!
I was working Saturday early afternoon at the KFC on Bridge and Wyandotte and a young woman had come in to order her food. After he debit card had been declined a few times she began to walk out without her food. The gentleman behind her waiting then asked how much her order was and proceeded to pay for it! I was the cashier and you have been spotted good for you! We all talked about how awesome and great of a person you are after you left.
Not many people would have done that!
My mother, daughter and I were shopping at Fred's Farmfresh market on Huron church Rd Saturday December 19th. We were checking out and my daughter complimented the cashier on her coat and told her how much she liked it. Then the cashier took off her coat and gave it to my daughter! It was a freds coat, she said it was no problem because she had another one! My daughter was so happy it made her day! The check out is located near the exit doors, it was freezing, I couldn't believe she literally gave my daughter the coat off her back! THANK YOU!
A very big Thank You to an angel named Denise who was shopping on Sunday December 20 in Reitmans at the Windsor Crossings outlet. You have NO idea the gift you gave my friend (and I) when you so generously gave her an extra $25 off card. The tears of joy flowed and giddiness took over at being able to purchase not one but two tops to go with a pair of pants. Your generosity keeps me believing in the spirit of Christmas. I wish you could have heard her through tears say "I've never had such beautiful clothes". You truly were an angel and we will never forget the gift you gave us. Merry Christmas Denise🎄😇 (I apologize for not getting your last name☺️)
Tonight at work I lost my engagement ring. I am heartbroken that this has happened. The ring was lost at Windsor Met Hospital around 6 o'clock Tecumseh rd site. My heart knows it will be returned. Please if found contact me on facebook Mickie Humick. A reward to the person who returns it. Thank you for your help.
Around 8:20pm on December 20th, a friend and I were going through the Tim Hortons drive thru at lauzon and Wyandotte. We heard Feliz Navidad blaring from the van ahead of us. Which we loved, so we tried to find the same song, and also blare the music haha. Unfortunately, the song finished JUST as we found the station. We pull up to the window, and are told our order was paid for! How nice! I caught up with her at the light, where she yelled "Merry Christmas!" from her vehicle. I thanked her, and continued on our way to the Christmas house!
I want to thank this women for 2 things!
1. For obviously paying for my order.
2. For still being so full of Christmas spirit. I grew up with a Christmas family, and I miss how festive everything used to be. People seem to forget the holiday exists anymore :(. Only half of windsor puts up lights. I remember being young and seeing so many lights, and so much Christmas! Lol. So thank you, for still being a kid at heart :)
