Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
On Wednesday morning around 11:00am I had to rush my dog to the veterinarian's in Belle River because I knew he was dying. When I got there I knew there was no way I would be able to carry him in since I was hysterical and he weighed over 70lbs and could not move. A man was walking by after leaving Tim Hortons and I asked him to help me. He gave his food to my mom and carried my dog in and then stayed with me and tried his best to comfort me and reassure me that everything was going to be ok. I need to find him to thank him in person for helping me through what was a horrible experience. Again, this was Wednesday, June 1st around 11:00am at the vet in Belle River. He was wearing an orange safety shirt with yellow stripes that had the sleeves cut off, he had tattoos and I'm pretty sure he was bald. If anyone happens to know him or if by chance he reads this...could someone please respond to this post!!
I was in an accident today. A deer ran in front of my car and despite my efforts to try to spare the deer, I was unsuccessful. Not only did the deer hit my car but the officer on scene was required to euthanize this poor animal. My heart aches. I was very distraught and there were a number of people who stopped to help. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the man who stopped, the young lady who made some phone calls and the woman and her mother who provided comfort. You are all good Samaritans and I will forever be grateful for your assistance and support. My heart is just broken but you helped me more than you can imagine. You are all amazing people.
Unfortunately I had to spend a great part of my night last night on the ER Ouellette Campus, obviously was very busy. There was many people and amongs them I noticed a mother with a child that had an injury to his head. After siting there for the longest time the young boy asked his mom for chips, she got up to get them from the vending machines, however, she put her money in and the chips got stuck, she started to hit the machine hoping the chips would fall with no luck, the security guard heard the noise came to check out what was going on and rudely told her not to hit (his) machine, she explained what happened, he in return said was going to get someone to look into it. Went to sit back at his desk and no one ever showed up. There was a young lady there, that like myself seen the incident, after a while of waiting, and no one ever showing up to help, this young lady got up, went to the vending machine and got another bag of chips and went towards the lady , that was holding her son as he had fallen asleep by then, had a few words wiith her and gave her the chips. In this world we need more people like that. If anyone knows who she is, please tell her she been spotted , what a nice gesture.
wow this is great news!

Please HELP THIS KITTEN. My Uncle noticed it and was up all of last night trying to get it out but couldn't and has to go to work. It fell into a catch basin/ storm sewer on Sunday afternoon and has been meowing ever since. The catch basin is in front of 1172 Jefferson Blvd (not his cat btw) and the cat is in the south side pipe! Can anyone either help or share this? Apparently the fire department came by Sunday but only looked for 2 seconds and didn't check the south side pipe. ANYONE?
I went to freshco at about 7:50 pm Sunday. And had pulled my cell phone out of my pocket and had dropped a 20 dollar bill. I was in line at the check out when I realized it and looked over towards the ice cream section where I was and there he was walking to me with the money in hand I just want to say thank you very much to him and thank you to his mom for raising a honest young man.
I was at costco on may 20th around 1pm and someone hit our car and left without stopping but fortunately someone else saw it happen and got his license plate number and left us a note on our windshield.
I would just like to say thank you that person for doing that
My husband was just at the Shoppers Drug Mart on Banwell to get some baby food and an eyedropper or syringe to feed our ill cat. He had explained the situation to the pharmacist on duty, whos name he didn't get, and when they heard about what's happening, they gave the syringe (with no needle of course) to my husband and wouldn't accept payment for it, just hoped that our little guy got better.
Thank you so much, you ROCK!
