Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
To the young man who stopped his large water truck in the intersection of Tecumseh and Kildare about 11:30 this morning to help a little old lady on her walker get across Tecumseh and stayed with her till she was safely on the other side, bless you. Your kindness did not go unnoticed. You have been spotted.
While shopping with my daughter's yesterday I accidentally left my keys in the ignition and killed my battery. An incredibly friendly and generous man offered me a boost. My cables fried and he went out of his way to make sure I got my van started. His wife and son arrived with their cables and boosted my van. And to go a step further, they insisted I keep their cables so I didn't have to buy another set. Their generosity nearly brought me to tears as I have been going through a difficult time lately. Patrick (I'm horrible with names so I hope I got yours right) and family, your generosity has been spotted!
The pastor and his wife from C.A.C Bethel Family Church were selling their vehicle and saved me (a single mom and full time student) a lot of time and money while providing me with a safe/ reliable ride. Thank-you again and you've been spotted for being wonderful people!
Being a student and waiting for OSAP is one of the most STRESSFUL things in the world. On Wednesday September 14th, I had $100 that was suppose to last me until I got my OSAP (whenever that was suppose to come in), and we needed groceries.
Went to the east Windsor Walmart, about an hour and 45 minutes before I was suppose to start work, to get stuff that would last us until at least friday. Go up to pay, and my debit card doesn't work. Call the bank, and they say they can't do anything and that i should work.
Now here I am, 15 minutes before my shift. Stressed out, hungry, and in a rush, waiting for an etransfer to go through from one account to the next. I finally couldn't stay any longer, and asked if they could hold it for me. The cashier said they would probably only be able to hold it for an hour. That was fine, I would figure i out and get someone to come get the stuff for us.
No one could go get it for me. I went to work and cried for the first 15 minutes from hungry and stress.
7:45, I go on my break at work. I call the walmart and ask if it is still at the services desk. IT WAS. I was so happy! I asked if they could hold it until 10pm when I got off work, they said no problem.
10pm, I go there, it is just where I left it. In all the bags and everything. THEY EVEN TOOK MY MEAT, CHEESE, AND DAIRY to a freezer to keep it from going bad!
The lady rescanned everything, helped me price match everything was a complete joy.
I wish I got everyone's name so I could thank them personally but I want to say a big THANK YOU to the East Windsor Walmart. One of the most stressful days turned out to be alright thanks to all the workers and great customer service at this store.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
To the male bus driver on the Dougall 6 this morning. I watched you go out of your way to help 2 elderly people onto the bus and talked to them. I've seen you before on other routes and I have noticed you are a compassionate person. Thank you so much for doing what you did. You've been spotted
To the two ladies at booster juice who were incredibly kind to my special needs brother, thank you. Too often do he and I go out in public and people are either scared of him, unsure, or do not know how to react. Many times people have left the aisle, walked in a different direction or pulled their children away simply because he is different. Yet he is a sweet, happy, fun loving young man. You were so kind when he went up to you both showing you his keys. You allowed him to hug you, and you engaged him although you didn't even understand what he was saying. You two are truly wonderful and I wish everyone reacted to him the way you did. You are an example of true acceptance. I wish the best for you and your families. It truly made his day.
Today (Tues.) I picked up my Grand daughters from school and we went to Tim Hortons on Walker rd. around 4pm for a treat while waiting for my son to get off work. One had decided on exactly what she wanted while the other had a really hard time deciding what treat would be hers, she made her decision after like 5 min., in the mean while the line had gotten quite long so we made our way to the back to wait our turn. All of a sudden to my surprise the woman at the front of the line grabbed me at the end of the line and said common up here I'm treating you all (my 2 Grand daughters n myself) I tried to say no but she insisted and all the while she was conversing with my Grand daughters to make them feel special!! This has never happened to me before so I was shocked at her generosity and kindness it made our day! You were the perfect example for 2 little girls to follow!! We want to thank you Fran and you have been spotted!!!!!
