Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
To the gentleman at the Tim Hortons on Sandwich around 8am today(Thursday Feb 9th) driving the silver Cadillac. You then turned into the Vollmer parkinglot. Thank you for buying my daughter and I our morning treat. You provided me with an amazing positive teachable experience for my daughter.
I just had to say a big thank you to the nice gentleman at Costco in Windsor Saturday morning. He seen me get to my car with a full cart. I know he wanted my spot, but instead of waiting, he gets out of his car comes over to me and starts helping me unload all my stuff in my car. Even tells me not to forget my purse in the cart, I couldn't believe how nice some people really are. You sir, made my day and maybe you are from Leamington, who knows, but I just wanted to let you know that you have been spotted thanks again!!
I just want to thank the kind man in the riverside area who we always see shoveling and salting the sidewalks in our neighbourhood. Recently, a scheduling mix up caused us to leave our son Kevin at the house by himself for a short period of time, when we got home everything was fine but he told us that when he ran into some trouble you were in the neighbourhood and were able to help him out. We sincerely appreciate you looking out for the neighbours.
I would like to take a moment to give a shout to my daughter Mya.
She's in first grade and was given a 100 days of school project. She decided she wanted to collect 100 cans of cat food and donate it to the "Pet society" aka the Windsor Essex Humane society.
After reaching out to friends and family to help her, she completely blew her goal out of the water!
This Saturday she dropped off 436 cans to WECHS and I am so incredibly proud of her.
An emotional day for just an haircut. I, along with 3 other women watched as clippers shaved off your 16 inches of red hair. Diagnosed just weeks before your 33rd birthday with breast cancer you wanted to donate your hair before chemo stole it. You allowed each of us to snip a braid while "Fight Song" played in the background. I watched as you mouthed the lyrics and sang them to your 5 year old son. You held him close while he rubbed your arm.
To Marina at B2 studio in Lakeshore, you went over and beyond today. From tapering her buzzcut and washing her head afterwards-you are more than just a hairdresser. Thank you for donating your services today and the card.
To the one lady who approached me and told me of her mother having cancer and how you wished she had the support my friend did... thank you. Thank you for sharing that with a complete stranger such as myself. I am grateful to share such a bittersweet day today with her and I'm glad it touched your life as well.
I was in the book aisle at The Real Canadian Superstore on Walker Road in Windsor today and I noticed a book I've been thinking of purchasing, called "Chicken Soup for the Soul - The Power of Gratitude". I noticed an orange sticky-note on top of the book that read, "Be open to receive. Give thanks for the little things in life. Gratitude opens the door to receive more." I had tears in my eyes because I so desperately needed to see this message. I picked up the book and the note fell heavily off the book. When I went to see why, I picked up the note and on the back of the note was taped a loonie. I was shocked. I ended up purchasing the book, feeling like the 101 Stories contained within it could help me. I am inspired to do the same for someone else. We never know when and where we may find an act of kindness and this honest heart wants to thank you for lifting me up when I needed it most.
Last week I inquire do on this beautiful print of elephants to give to my mom as elephants are her favourite. When the lady came to drop it off, I had forgotten she was coming as I had a very hectic day at work & rushed home to get my kids from the bus. I completely forgot to stop at a ATM and had no cash on me. She insisted I take the print anyways and that she'd come by next time she was in town. My kids as per always love to talk to everyone & chatted with her for a moment. Anyways, she came tonight to collect the money and when she came in she had two more prints (I didn't order), Star Wars, my boys FAVORITE. She handed them to me and said to give them to the boys , that "they are so cute". Thank you to Tricia, you made my boys night. They can't wait to hang them up in their room! Your thought & generosity is greatly appreciated!!
A true angel.
Signed,
Very happy family! :)
This is a little late but last Wednesday I was in the Tim Horton's drive thru on Park Street. There was a police cruiser in front of me and no one behind me. (I don't usually tell people about my little random acts of kindness (I think that defeats the purpose) but this time I will only because it ended up being someone else's act.) When I was at the speaker I let the girls inside know that I was going to pay for the order in front of me (the Officer) and then proceeded to place my order. I'm now behind the Officer waiting to pay and I see him paying for his order and thought the girls might have misunderstood me. He leaves and I pull up and was told that the Officer said no and bought my tea instead. By this time there is a car behind me so of course I paid for their order instead. I really wanted to just do something nice for one of our great Officers and literally pay it forward, but it was turned around on me. I have been going through a bit of a rough time and was feeling a little down that day but this Officer's kind act lifted my spirits for the rest of the day. So I just wanted to say thank you for my tea, lifting my mood and for all that you do.
