Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
As an ex citizen of Windsor that now lives in Kitchener, I came to visit Windsor for the 50th Anniversary of St. Clair College. I wanted to spot Justine for going above the call of duty after I was having a dispute with my $99.99 hotel rate I booked online and the residence rate was $69.95. She called Booking.com to see if they would fix the rate and they wouldn't. So she booked a room for me for the $69.95 rate and I was able to cancel my reservation with Booking.com and was able to have not only an amazing time while visiting Windsor but also I was able to meet some amazing people in the city.
Also, to the people that raised the flag for the 125th Birthday of the City of Windsor, all of the organizers and to all the people I met during the walk, thank you for being so kind to me especially Karen and Innocent. Also, to all the organizers, staff, Firefighters, and Police Officers that were there, you were all so kind to me and I appreciate it. Also, to officer Wren Dorsant, the new diversity officer of the city, it was such a pleasure meeting you and thank you for taking a picture with me. It was very much appreciated. Furthermore, to the police officer driving vehicle P6102 on Saturday morning around 9 a.m., I witnessed you had an amazing interaction with a young boy with his mother and you turned on the lights and explained how police car sirens are noisy. You also gave him a high five as well before you drove on your regular patrol. I made sure to tell the other Auxiliary officers how amazing your interaction has been with all citizens of the City of Windsor. Thank you for respecting all people including our diverse population.
To the Windsor Public Library staff, thank you for allowing me to cut a Captain America character out of a comic book so I was able to make a button from it. I love buttons so much! :).
To all the Transit Windsor employees who were really kind to me after the machines didn't accept my valid Day Passes, thank you for allowing me to just show my Day Pass and allow me to board without delaying other customers. Also, your punctuality has improved dramatically and also your customer service and attitudes have improved dramatically too. Also, to the 5 Dominion Transit Operator that gave a courtesy stop on a Friday afternoon to a guy with crutches right at his home so he didn't have to walk from a far bus stop, you have been spotted too. Also, thank you to all the bus drivers that took the time to chat with me too as I returned to Windsor for a visit.
To the kind server on Friday night at Artist Cafe when I went out with my friend for dinner and the two ladies sitting at the table beside me for chatting with us, we really appreciate it and the service was amazing at Ceasars Windsor.
To the staff who hosted the 50th Anniversary event at the SCCA and the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, you all did an amazing job and keep up the amazing work. To Diane, Laiman, Roger, Veronique, Justin, and Miranda, you were all awesome as well. Keep up the amazing work!
To the people that organized Khalsa day at the riverfront, the event was so amazing and thank you for the non-alcoholic beverages you were giving to random citizens passing by. This was really amazing and shows the true character and spirit of the City of Windsor and all of its citizens regards of who they are or where they come from.
To anyone else I may have missed and I interacted with, thank you for all being so awesome and kind! I had a blast during my weekend in the City of Windsor.
I have never felt more Canadian until I came to the City of Windsor so thank you all for your amazing work! :). Also I am proud to be Canadian as I am born in Canada!
From the guy that loves Windsor!
P,S. I apologize to the people lining up to take the Greyhound home, I apologize for cutting in line as I wasn't sure whether the other group was lining up for a different bus in the same parking lot on the left side of the lot and there was only one bus on the right side of the lot which I asked the lady at the Transit Terminal. My sincere apologizes on that.
To the girls that served me and my son at Tim Hortons on lauzon road near McHugh. Im here on a daily basis, multiple times a day too and have always got great service.
Thank you for the generous offer when my son realized he didn't have enough his orange juice and donut... you guys decided and paid for his donut which made him very happy, especially with the condition he is in now.
Thank you girls very much.
Today while at the wfcu Tim Hortons after a horrible day I was served by a very sweet young lady, name tag said Kayla. She was so kind and had a genuine smile which was contagious and changed my awful day into a good evening. Thank you Kayla, me and my family will definitely come to this Tim's location again.
Today was a tough day for my family and I. We were meeting at Stop42 restaurant to say goodbye to a wonderful little girl. And I was extremely sad to have her leave our home to go and live with her family in BC.
I have to say in the midst of my sadness an amazing thing happened. A waitress I'm sorry I didn't get her name. Felt my pain and paid for my breakfast and donuts. I was dumbfounded by her overwhelming gesture and kindness. In my moment of sadness she came forward and gave me the strength and love that I so needed. So to the beautiful waitress at stop42 with the beautiful tattoos you have been spotted. Thank you so much for making this day bearable.❤️
I want to thank a beautiful young lady named Jamie who works at the Amherstburg Walmart. She found my wallet and turned it in. When I tried to give her money (because she doesn't realize how much time and aggravation she saved me), she refused to take it.
What she doesn't know, is that I didn't realize I had lost my wallet until 30 minutes before I had to leave this morning to go to Sarnia for my son's baseball games. I was frantic and very upset. She also didn't know that when I was about one minute from the baseball diamond, my son, my daughter, and sister in law were in a minor car accident. She also doesn't know I cried all the way home bc I am so grateful for her honesty!
Everything was in tact in my wallet. Every single bill and coin, card and picture.
Thank you JAMIE! You have been spotted.
Thank you to the awesome soul who returned my wallet right to my house yesterday. I would love to thank you in person. You are so appreciated. ❤❤❤❤
To the woman at ceasers windsor may 19 who gave us 2 tickets to see Trevor Noah. My husband and I want to thank you again for giving us those awesome tickets. It was very kind and generous of you. It was our last night out before I return to work after my maternity leave. You made it a night we will always remember. :) thanks again!!!!!
The windy sky was appropriate on this special day as we celebrated the raising of our beautiful Canadian flag (http:/ / www.greatcanadianflag.com). The flag was raised at Dieppe Gardens as many gathered together cheering and applauding. As O' Canada echoed through the crowd, gunshots were fired as a part of Windsors 125th Birthday celebrations. Everyone was filled with such joy watching the amazing addition to our Windsor skyline.
