Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
I know this isn't really a spotting but I want to tell everyone what good my 4yr old did & I am so proud of him.
We we're on our way outside when he wanted to bring a water to the garbage man when he came by. I said sure why not, I'm sure he would like that.
Well we waited, & waited till he came. My son had the most excited look on his face when he accepted the water bottle. The garbage men were so thankful. It made my day to see such little things make someone's day. I'm glad we were able to do that.
I am standing in line at Tim Horton's at Windsor Regional Hospital (Met. Campus) I was talking to my father's doctor. He has had some bad tests recently. I just wanted to thank his doctor for her excellent care of my father. I started to cry. Standing in line with no tissues, trying to stifle my tears, this woman hand me a pack of tissues and says, I saw you crying.
thank you
your simple kindness is appreciated.

A HUGE thank you to Dan Batson and the Moose Lodge for purchasing 7 cases (a total of 84 individual boxes) of girl guide cookies from 6 year old Brooke who is in Sparks.
Last Thursday Brooke donated 1 case to the Police station - to thank them for helping keep the children safe and the other 6 cases she donated to the Windsor Youth Center.
Not once did she ask to keep any of these cookies, she knew what she was doing was something special.
To the Moose Lodge - thank you for purchasing these cookies for people in our community but most importantly thank you for the opportunity to allow my young daughter to experience the amazing feeling you get when giving to others.
One proud mom!
On Thursday my mother had car trouble on Banwell Road, my 3 year old son was with her. The wait for CAA was an hour and a half. Now, an hour and a half is a long time for anyone to wait at the side of the road on a hot day, but to have to do it with a very spirited 3 year old is an entirely different type of challenge. My mother as always was a trouper and was skipping and hopping up and down the road counting blades of grass, birds and butterflies and keeping my little guy entertained. In that hour and a half wait my mom could not believe how many people stopped to offer them assistance, drinks, to make phone calls or offer them a ride. A sweet couple even circled back around bringing them cold water and a snack for my little man. Thank you to all the folks who took the time to stop, your kindness was so appreciated.
I want to give a HUGE recognition to the OPP and in particular to Constible Lehaux (sp?).
We rent a secondary building on our property as a vacation rental and I received a call this morning from the company which reviews credit card charges and detects fraud. They advised me that the tenants currently residing in our place used a card that was considered high risk . It seems they had used at least six credit cards, all with different names, using the same address in the last couple of weeks. Of course the credit card charge was reversed and the fraud risk analyst advised that I call the police. I did as advised however, the residents were checking out today and left via a cab before the OPP could get to our house. In speaking with Constable Lehaux, I explained that they left in a cab and she immediately said she had a way to possibly track them down. About an hour later she had another Constable come to my home to tell me they had the three men detained. They were on the 401 near Chatham. I know I will likely never see the money for the two nights they stayed at our rental, nor recoup the money from damages they caused but if these guys are charged and locked up, it would definitely be worth my losses. So THANK YOU to the Belle River and Chatham OPP who worked so quickly to get these guys and showed concern and care by keeping me in the loop, we are so fortunate to have you!
Just want to say 'thank you' very much to Andrew, the Assistant Manager in the Bakery Department at Costco for all you did in helping us with a very special cake order. My husband ordered the cake last week and we picked the cake up on Monday. You were very kind and understanding of our situation. Words can't express. Thank you again!!!
To the police officer who saved my life yesterday, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. Please people don't follow the GPS, It sometimes give you the wrong direction and put your life in dangerous.
